I don't know how these schools stay in business. Test after test they miss their mark--except for one: Rising Star. If Rising Star covered all the Operations Orders for this exam why couldn't the other school bother? For my lieutenants exam they were the only ones who covered the crime classification guide (I got 3 points from that) and apparently they also covered the judgment questions on the last sgts exams

These schools need to be held accountable to their customers. If a mail order company like rising star charging 1/2 price can do the research to put out material we actually need then why cant they? Bec. people will keep giving them $$$ that's why!

Not taking anything away from the Rising Star on this one, however I think it's worth pointing out that they have an advantage by not conducting a live class.  The schools that do live classes have to priortize materials to fit into 3 hours.  This is where people get the notion that the Key and Elite did not prepare them.  Although it's true they didn't include OPs orders in their materials, that only counted for 3 points on the exam.  Everything else was covered by all classes.  It was left to the student to study things that weren't covered in class, which many people did not do.  People who used rising star didn't have that distinction to make, there was no live class to tell them what to study and what not to.

Also I'm quite sure that going forward every class will bloat their packets to include a lot of unnecessary procedures because of this debacle, which will end up pissing people off when they get a straight forward test next time.  I can see it now, "I would have passed if I would have just studied the main procedures, but I failed becuase I wasted time on all the fluff!"  It's a no-win IMO.

Well said.

There is so much material that we are responsible for that it's near impossible to be fully prepared.

However if the test writers would write a decent test on important procedures I believe that would benefit the dept more than this last debacle.
