once again, its our own fault. We provided them answers and most threw in their towel. Why would someone who score 80 protest for someone who scored 57? Why would someone who scored 57 waste his time and show up in bklyn?
this was dcas strategy and we fell for it
i am above an 80...i was there fighting for ppl who did not pass. I protested some that i got wrong and one i got right but knew was a throwout...so stop saying no one goes who passed.

I'll be there tomorrow. But I agree with you. Still gotta take the fight to DCAS. Can't roll over now when we all made the same sacrifice. Well most of us anyway...

My friend is at a 69. I got you Devil Dog. PM what questions you got wrong and what answer your picked.
Once again, some people on this site amaze me. Nothing is on the level with this job but somehow the protest is? Get real! The same zealots who think the protest is so important are the same who censored any discussion about it. That idiotic campaign did more to undermine people's will to fight than anything else. We'll done! . Not that it matters. The only reason there were so many throwouts/doubles on the 2011 test and 2010 Captain's test (27 for that I believe) was there needed to be to make a viable list. The protest played a marginal role at best. Anyone who is blind to that is naive fool. So stop with the self riteous indignation and lecturing people. Whether one decides to protest or not is none of your damned business!
In all honesty it doesn't matter on the number of protests there are. If there are 1000 protests making the same invalid argument then what's the point? All you need is that one person who makes a valid argument to change an answer. It's quality of quantity when it comes to this.

Yes, but if everyone thinks the same and relies and someone else.... U have to take it upon urself. someone's execution of an argument for a protest might be flawed. You might know what ur talking about but on paper it might not come across that way. Everyone fight. Everyone protest.

Amen. I'm doing the same. I have a solid plan of attack for tomorrow. It would be very gratifying for me to see the questions I protest either thrown out, or made double/triple answer and see guys that I know studied their balls off get those extra points they need. People can say what they want but I know the only way to get things done and to do it yourself. If everyone had that mentality that "the protest isn't worth it" or "someone will protest the same question(s) as me so why do it" then nothing would be protested at all. Thank you Nikky and Sgt2be for having a passing score and still putting up a fight.
Gotta love the don't generalize about me but then generalize others mentality of certain people on this forum.
I acknowledge that I had a kunt attitude yesterday. If I survive due to the efforts of others..God bless you all. And B I'll find u somewhere and buy u drinks.

I also scored fairly well with a passing score and I showed up today with ammo for protests. I did it for 2 reasons.
1) if I am successful with my protests, it moves me up on the list and gets me promoted faster
2) I have many friends that did not pass and I want them to be on this list with me. If me fighting for points will help my friends get past a 70, then I will be genuinely thrilled.
Also, someone else touched on this, but if many people protest a question it increases the chances of a double/throw out because everyone has different writing styles. Maybe 2 people protested for the same reason, but 1 of them wasn't able to properly at
Articulate a point, but the other person was able to.
Anyone that doesn't go and give their best attempt at a protest is foolish. That is my opinion and I am sticking to it.

I agree. I also think we should have waited until after the protest sessions to release any answer keys. Prematurely releasing the key equals low turn out at the protest sessions.
I also printed out a copy of the wording below provided to us by SLATE. This came in handy and pretty much wrote it word for word
I respectfully request that the Question #_ that deal with Operations Order #_ should be nullified as this subject was not listed in the official NOTICE OF EXAMINATION(NOE Included & Highlighted) and I did not have the requisite notice to study the necessary material and properly prepare. As a result, I was unfairly prejudiced and, with this test being given once only 4 years, these questions have the potential to derail my career and negatively impact my life. My research shows that on a 2013 Sergeant Exam, Operations Orders were a separate topic listed in the NOTICE OF EXAMINATION(NOE Included & Highlighted), which means that the DCAS is well aware that it is not a subsection, but a separate category of police procedures. The questions selected should come from materials previously designated as the ones that will be tested. Any extremists questions may as well be on the subjects unrelated to police work. The notice was misleading and unfair, and deprived me of the ability to study the correct subject matter.
Last thing, you will write out this passage and attach both our NOE and 2013 Sgt NOE to every question protested with 'Test' section highlighted.
I went today and protested 8. The other guys there were churning out protests. Keep in mind there is still the mail-in period, which is when I'm protesting ops orders. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

I was informed today by one of the personnel at the Brooklyn DCAS site that anyone who has not attended may attend on the last day of the protest. It is not something they publicize simply becasue its on a first come first serve basis which means that some people may be turned away if there is not enough room. Judging by the turnout today that shouldnt be a problem for whoever wants to go tomorrow who has not yet attended. Just some FYI for those who were not able to make it on their scheduled protest date.

look at question 7....it was in basket...myself and mny others got it wrong. I didnt bother to protest bc there WAS NO WAY i was looking through all those in basket pages again. But someone mentioned that all the choices were wrong as per pg?? 106 is throwout based on interim order. Ummm 10 alot of ppl got it wrong. I think its worth protesting on a technicallity of not mentioning any proper ID being presented...54 is worth looking into. Just a poorly written question. I have some more but id have to mention the section they come from and i cant due to the make up test.
I heard the same thing about #7 and I will give it a go. I also got #10 wrong but I'm not sure if I can argue with that one. I will look at #54, especially since numerous people are protesting it. I actually got #106 correct but from what I hear, that will definitely be a throw-out.
states must be properly id'd....never mentioned anything about the guy being id'd. Go to 209 for a list of proper id and if not properly id'd then must arrest. I know its a technicallity, but you know what, THEY CHANGED LITERALLY ONE WORD TO GET ANSWERS AS WRONG. You want to pull that crap, then every question should have ALL necessary info in it.

Even though I passed, I went to the Brooklyn Protest this morning. I protested questions 18 and 45. I believe i made a good argument for 45 to be a throwout, it asked for the correct duty and all 4 were incorrect duties. Question 18 not too sure but i gave it a whirl.
To everyone saying that this exam is airtight: BULLSH*T!!
There will definitely be a few doubles/throw outs.
I mentioned this in another thread but I specifically remember there was a question that was missing words in the question because when I was reading it I said to myself these guys have 6 months to write a test and they can't even proof read it. It made it difficult to understand what they were asking. It was more towards the end of the test. I don't go until tomorrow so I'm not sure what number it was or if it was a research question but if it's not a research question people should protest for obvious reasons. Anyone know the question I'm talking about?
If that question wasnt research and its not a throw out then last one out please shut the lights. Its like it was written in a different language, put thru some online free translator and spit onto our test.
I'm going today but I found out that I'll be able to go to the protest! I'm freaking scrambling. But a part of me is just tired. Im over this test and pretty much this job. Everything sucks.
I'll be there today protesting my ASS off for my fellow men and women on the fence. Wrote down about 12 questions I will protest for their sake, 3 being in the inbasket. Mind you, I already I have a passing score of 75. If I can help others get over the hump and survive this disaster, it will be all the more gratifying. Also, I'm on patrol in Brooklyn North, so enough with the "only inside cowards passed." Stop generalizing and adopt a more positive outlook in life. Here goes nothing. See you in Manhattan!
The questions I will be protesting:
1, 10, 22, 45, 56, 59, 61, 80, 89, 95, 103.
