Just attempted to look up info for a test question on my phone and was denied access..
based on the fact access is denied well before the protest i find it pretty absurd due to the higher amount of money Yano charged vs other classes ... Rising star for example who actually gave ops orders to its students
Granted protest rules say no digital devices but I'm sure taking out the phone for a moment to look up a procedure won't lead to being vaporized by captain insano or dcas Vs bringing in 5 binders which is the equivalent to a **** show
Neither here nor there i don't find this to be very elite or strategic
Regardless I found the fill in the blanks and crossword puzzles in the packets to be most instrumental
I just tried WatchDox. I logged into Elite's page and then I got in. From what everyone is saying though, no electronics at the protest. We will all have to carry our stupid red binders
I went to the 2013 Sergeant's Protest. If it goes the same way, here are the rules.
No cellphone or other electronic devices, especially cameras
You were allowed to bring blue/black pens and your yellow answer sheet (or copy from DCAS) with your answers on it
You were allowed to talk and confer with others in the classroom
The answers were posted on 3 walls of the classroom on large size poster board
You were NOT allowed to take a copy of the answers with you. This means ANY reference material or random scraps of paper you brought in were confiscated when you left.
There was no copier available. So if you protested a question and wanted to submit a PG procedure, you had to give them a copy of your own page.
You can take your yellow sheet or DCAS answers with you when you leave, but NOT if you have ANY marks on them other than the answers.
That's right... if you make little X's or check marks or dots or ANYTHING other than the answers (ABCD) themselves (even if it was during the exam itself and not the protest session), your sheet will be confiscated. If you dispute it, the person will call a supervisor over who will examine the sheet and then tell you, "No, you can't take this, sorry. It's right on the exam instructions too. You are not allowed to make any marks on the paper other than the answers themselves. You can technically be disqualified for it."
There was always at least one monitor in the classroom making sure you weren't writing the answers down or snapping pictures of the answers or anything. Somehow, last test, the answers still made it out from several people. But if you get caught, you're in for a world of trouble.
The purpose of all these rules is to make it extremely hard to protest and impossible to take the answers home so you can consult with people outside of the protest session (e.g. instructors).
I'm confused so you can't bring the dcas answers out of the room ?? So basically nobody can find out their score unless they burn a day and go to a protest ?
Is the route to the protest up hill both ways? Do they rent snow machines and set mountain lions loose to make it more difficult? I'm going to get an official copy of my answer key and compare it to the handwritten one to make sure it is correct. Then I'm going to bring the handwritten one to the protest, put 'Xs' on the wrong ones and determine my raw score. I'll turn it in before I leave but not before writing 'Burn in Hell Capt. Insano' in big block letters across the top.
What's there to be confused about? The answers are not released anymore. It's been stated numerous times everywhere. Yes, the only way to get the answers legitimately is to go to the protest session.
Someone smuggled it out for the 2013 Sgt's exam and posted it. A bunch of people actually. It happens. But it's a risk, both to the smuggler, AND it's a risk for you to wait at home for the answers to show up.
So the way I interpret these Gestapo Rules is that I MAY use scrap paper to tally my score HOWEVER I must hand that in to DCAS prior to leaving, correct?
i was confused because in one of your paragraphs you wrote you can leave with yellow sheet or dcas answers ... I assume now you meant dcas scantron

Yes, that's right. Therefore, if you're sneaky at jotting down your answers without the monitor seeing and you're able to stick them in your pocket, you're not going to be searched. But they WILL examine your answer sheet(s) for any "unauthorized" marks. And any papers you're holding in your hands in the open when you walk out will be examined.
