Eze, owner of the Rising Star, said this regarding that exam:
In other words, they tell you that Department directives and orders will be tested and will come from such references as the Department Patrol Guide Manual, Administrative Guide, Operations Orders, etc. They therefore should have informed you as to where the reference for the leadership/judgement questions were derived so that you could prepare. By not doing so, they might as well have told you in the NOE that you may be tested on human anatomy, botanical chemistry, and NASA rocket launching procedures - without giving you the body of literature from where the questions are drawn, how can you possibly prepare?
As we all are aware by now, our 2015 NOE neglected to include Operations Orders as a source material for the exam. I am wondering if anyone knows how exactly the 2011 protest was done. Were they successful in quoting the NOE as a reason for throwing out questions?
I didn't sit for 2011 but I think I would've heard if leadership questions were tossed in significant numbers. It is a great point. They should provide a source. What if I decide to read The Prince or the Art of War? They are considered among the greatest books about leadership ever written. I assure you they wouldn't advise giving the PAA the day (2011 people bring this scenario up to this day).
If they couldn't get those leadership questions tossed on that basis I think our chances are slim with the OOs. It's worth a shot though.
If I remember correctly the 2011 NOE did mention that jugdment questions would be included in the exam through a revised NOE however they failed to mention from where the material came from.
2011 exam was poorly written. You think 2015 in basket was hard? How about an in basket without an actor. We didnt know who we were.
Some pg questions had double answers i remember one had triple answers
19 total changes on 2011 exam. Apps. 17 were double answers and 2 triple/throwouts.
Good luck to all we were in your same outraged condition not too long ago.
Protest like you live in Baltimore.

Other than not telling you about who you were, 2011 Inbasket was a conventional and normal one. That Inbasket had normal math, normal force figures and many adjusting the roll call questions . On the other hand, I can't really talk about specifics but this was not a normal inbasket and much much harder than 2011. At this point i'll leave it right here.
2011 in basket was far from normal, with all the stress of the exam and everything else, you sit down and then no page to tell you what actor you are, what platoon, what date, nothing. It Took me 30 minutes just to figure out what the hell was going on. I am not saying the 2015 in basket was easier, i dont know i didnt take it, but do not say it was so easy when you are doing it at you leisure time at home. It caused many people to not finish the exam and that was a 100 question exam.
i dont think we can compare these exams. there were tons of throw outs and double answers last time, this exams answers will be backed. it was made this way before to not have that. thats what will make this exam very different. that was stressed while they were doing this. we can compare but that will be the biggest difference.
This test will have less double answers and throw outs yes. However there will be some. So everyone should go protest and fight for your questions. As of now I feel as if only around 100 passed. No way they want such a short Lt list. So they will be looking to make it bigger via throw outs and double answers.
They might keep it short and just give an another exam . Didn't they have a 12 .and 14 captain exam.. and ppl say they won't study again and they hate this job blah blah buy Wil the first to sign uP with the classes

A lot of guys don't really understand that there is no comparison. There were actually questions from the 2011 test in the 2015 and those were the easy ones. From hearing Lts talk it sounds like it was alot like the 2013 Capt's test. The format for the inbasket was completely changed. The ONE math question was a 30-45 minuite question, that was only one question. The 2011 test had the judgement questions which was an element of surprise, which ultimately led all the crammers that got 54s to get made(throwouts). This test was almost all patrol guide, with Rising star like questions, except they were long like ELITE and vague like KEY questions. It was designed to trick the fast readers and shut out the slow ones. No comparison and the numbers will show it.

which i didnt wanna hear the other day myself from my buddy. this isnt new news this is evidently what they wanted from the onset, there are less vacancies to fill. and this is what they took from re-engneering. im at 37 wrong according to this key and i know its a stretch if i make it.

I would be shocked if 150 people pass this test. Even if no one wants to admit it, the majority of the candidates bombed the inbasket. Most people just guessed, it was written in german.

There is a reason why 40something questions on the excel sheet are LOW/MODERATE. Captain "Insano" brought down the schools and don't be surprised if he brings down the sheet. Just don't jump the gun wait for the protest. There's a bunch a guys that walked out knowing they bombed it then all of the sudden everyone has a 70. I'm going to wait.

EXACTLY. Thats why Im putting zero bearing on this answer key. A point of reference, maybe if you wanna look at it that way. But I think people will be surprised at just how in the running they actually are AND vice versa. No one should be comfortable and no one should feel like theres no shot they passed. We just dont know.
