Don't give up, go to protest and fight!

i have been talking to dozens of sgts.  Unbeleivably, many have a defeatist attitude and they say they aren't going to protest.  Others are saying that they are going to the protest and they are just gonna check their score, then leave.

Those statements are crazy!!! if everyone goes and everyone fights, that maximizes our chances of double answers and throw outs.

EVERYONE GO TO PROTEST. DON'T ROLL OVER!

This is unacceptable.. If you are just going to check answers, AT LEAST bring some NOE's and attach them to the questions.

I'll Be honest, I don't even know WHAT to protest. As far as finding discrepancies how can I know if I've never seen most of that material before in my life?

It seems that the most popular one is the NOE. Honestly, I was so nervous I don't even remember most of it. I blanked out.. I am going to look through it and see what I can come up with. I owe that much at least. Don't worry Fodx, just show up and do your best

Get together with several people you know have taken the test and write down a bunch of procedures you remember.
Then you have to get a copy of the procedure as of 1/18/15. If you get a question wrong that you want to try to fight, you will have to provide documentation to attach to the protest. Print out procedures even if you think you got the question correct because the questions were so crazy that maybe you missed a subtle trick in the 3rd part of the question. Protests without documentation are as good as toilet paper so print out as many procedures that made an appearance on the test as possible.

I'm one of those Sergeants. If I have a 70 on protest day I am leaving. If not, I'm leaving anyway. I'm not carrying the PG and all the BS around to win a point or two. Why should I? This site provides all the evidence I need to I know there are plenty of desperate EDPs out there who will do all the heavy lifting for me.

I'm with fodx I wouldn't know what to protest anyway. I hope to see evidence to the contrary in the coming month but, as far as I can recall, while most of those questions were ridiculous, they are solid too. I am confident of one double answer but, if they mark the one I chose as right, that's good enough for me. It's not my interest to improve anyone else's score. This isn't a team event. It's a competition. It's not that I WANT you guys to fail. I just really don't care whether any of you pass or fail. I only care about me. I know, I know . . . I'm a horrible person, right? At least I'm honest. All you guys singing kumbaya right now are full of ****. You only care if YOU pass too.

When you're done improving my score, meet me at the nearest bar from the protest site. I'll by you a drink!

I agree.  By the end of that test, I barely knew where I was.  3 hours of sleep the night before didn't help.  I want to protest and I'm going there....but I can barely remember any questions let alone what procedures they were from.

I think the whole process is pretty stacked against us.

One Way? No less than anyone else here. Honest? Yes. If you think anything I wrote above is inaccurate then come back here in 6 months. Today is 4/24. On 10/24 lets all agree to get together and let's see just how much all of us really care about each other.

The protest will have nothing to do with unity. It will be, at best, people motivated by enlightened self-interest against a common enemy. There is nothing wrong with that either. We're all cops here. So how about we stop bull****ting each other?

This is off topic but, in fairness, as far as I can tell, the criticisms of the Military are directed at the Reservists who game the system. It's a legitimate complaint. Anyone who has a problem with guys overseas playing by a different set of rules is an A-Hole. It's beside the point. The Sabbath and Military issue comes up every test. It's not going away. Vent, get it out of your systems and move on.

Testing in the City is a shambles. The process is identical to my childhood in the '70s when I took standardized tests on scantrons. That was 40 years ago! Testing needs to be overhauled but I wont hold my breath. The City burned through $1B on City Time. It spent $2B upgrading 911 and that's still underway! These numbers are absurd! The motivation behind City Time was to make the system more efficient and save the City money (ironically). For 911, it is a matter of life and death. These reforms happened under Bloomberg. As a cop, I'm no fan of his. Still, I have to admit, he is probably the most effective manager this city will ever have as Mayor. Despite that these projects were corruption-riddled, boondoggles. Could you imagine how much worse it would be under the current administration? I'm more afraid of the result if they actually tried to do something about testing! How much would that cost? What would the end product look like? You can hardly blame me for being cynical when it comes to the possibility of creating a more modern, efficient and fair system. I suspect 20 years from now. People like us will be have the same discussions. The problem is to big and we shouldn't be dwelling on it right now.

My focus is the same as everyone's here. To break 70 on this stupid ****ing test. I never thought it would be a concern given the work I put in but here I am! I was being a little over the top in my original post. It should be taken with a grain of salt. It was meant, in part, to be sarcastic and humorous but also let a little air out of the balloon of the insincere and sanctimonious lecturing going on. I'm not the only one getting tired of it.

By all means we should be working together against a common enemy to achieve a common goal. All this talk about 'Unity' and 'not surrendering' insults my sensibilities, though. Bosses are the most selfish, and self centered people on this job. We make cops look like heroes of the labor movement and they are far from that. So, let's drop the soaring rhetoric and simply say killing the protest is in everyone's best personal interest. It plays better to the audience!

Let's compile the publication dates for O.O, they are not testable unless the amend the PG after a year. In addition they were not on the NOE. They were so bad questions we just got to be selfless and protest.

I am protesting whether I pass or fail. I personally know of four questions that I have a legitimate chance of getting a double answer on or have them be throw out. If that helps others that's great but I am obviously doing it for my best interest. Good Luck to all. I hope that all the studied their asses of, I hope that they pass.
