As per usual, small rumor, the next BMOC group will be the final for the 2011 Exam. Not to get anyone's hopes up just passing on information instead of the comedy seen here for the last 5 days.

Although I'd probably trace your IP address, and show up to your house to kiss you if true, there is absolutely no reason to at this point. (But when it comes to this job, whenever something defies logic, here it comes.)

So you are cool with people getting cut off of a list just so you can get promoted a few months early? That is the most selfish one way s**t I have heard in a long time. Everyone deserves to get promoted if they pass an exam. It doesn't matter if scored scored a 95 or a 70. Guys on the 2011 list have been waiting for Years. You have been waiting a few months. RELAX. Your list will come soon enough. In the meantime go back to work and wait your turn just like everyone else had to. I don't know about you but you should be routing for these people, not giving kisses out, while other cops careers just took a nosedive. And after that LT test debacle be prepared to wait longer now. Because if that test has a low pass rate, then mist Sgt vacancies are coming from retirements instead of promotions.
That's a hypothetical situation that not only is impossible, but would never happen. There are a lot of issues this job needs to fix ASAP. However us sticking together is one issue that we control. That was my point. The man/woman standing on your left and right hand side that studied and passed the exam, deserves a promotion just like you . So yes I would say no if it meant I had to f*** someone over. I will wait until it is my turn and hope that everyone else gets theirs too. We all put in the work in order to better ourselves, and our quality of life.
I second ChinStrap. The selfishness on this job must stop. I said this months ago to the usual suspects of the 2013 list who started wishing and hoping for the 2011 list to be cut once 2013 list had come out. I couldn't believe what a dog eat dog world we have created on this job for ourselves. And yes I'm also on the 2013 list, half way, and a good two years away from being promoted and I can wait.
I understand where you're coming from. I realize it makes me an a-hole to think that way, but I'm being honest, and I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who would turn it down.
But like you said, it's hypothetical. Never say never to something on this job, but it's never.
It's easy to attack Wingnut but the reality is that if they did kill the '11 list. There isn't a single solitary soul on here who would turn down or delay their promotion off the '13 list. You can want the best for your colleagues and still take what you've earned when the time comes without being the a$$hole. We don't decide when the time comes, that's up to the job and DCAS.
Nothing is completely impossible, Kevin, but I'd take 1,000/1 odds it'll run through probably by October/November.. Maybe even pushed back to January/February at the rate the job is promoting people.
What's the benefit of doing so? They still have more than 250 people who passed the test to go through. They've continued running through the 2011 list and it's coming up on a full year since the 2013 list came out. Why stop so close to the end?
Although all common sense points to the '11 list running its course, I know if I were near the very end of it I'd be nervous about it. That's just me.
