So the first official document you received pertaining to your promotion in over a year and you just throw it in the garbage?
Im not lying... just telling u what I got. If u don't have the credits they send a certified letter to u r house. What's so hard to believe trying to get my friend who got it also.. stop your ****
This job never ceases to amaze me.look how quick you all are to jump down someone's throat. I'm trying to see if anyone else got a letter as well. I received the letter because I recently applied for my official academy transcript to have all my credits ready to go for promotion. When I went to the education unit they told me the new list was beginning to get screened. Take that however you want. I can understand your frustration especially if you are one of those at the bottom of the last list that probably failed anyway but passed with throwaway questions. No I'm not military. I had my education and I would never knock anyone who was for not having college credits. Rookie mentality I guess. Good luck and if anyone happens to have a letter as well please post it for those who need pictures.
All I was saying is you need 60 credits or military to get hired for PO on this job. If you are not military how did you get hired? Also how many credits do you need to become a sgt? Is it more than 60?
Hey guys... Long time reader first time poster... Im in the top 50 of the 2013 list...did not receive a letter... Please log into the education tracking units portal on the intranet and make sure your credits are VERIFIED...

You need 64 credits for sgt. everyone needs to check the educational tracking on the intranet, it doesnt matter if you had 120 credits when you can on if APD didnt foward your transcripts then you have nothing on file. It happened to me and most of my friends. So eveyone do your selves a favor and check on your credits. If its wrong it tells you how to update your file.
Of course if I did not have military I obviously had my 60 credits. you need 64 to be a sergeant. You can have your academy credits converted through Excelsior college online by applying for an official transcript from the police academy. It costs about $280. I recently had that done and that was why I got the letter. The education tracking unit told me in person that the job began screening people on the new list. I had the letter at home but my wife threw it away by accident. It wasn't important. I knew what it was. Just wondering if anyone else got one on here with any other knowledge of the new list being screened already. My partner also received a letter. I'm trying to see if he saved it so I can post it for you all.
I got the same letter about two weeks ago. Said congrats on being a canadidate for Sgt. And its everyone's responsibility to have all requirements to be eligible for promotion. So I called the number provided to see if it was something specific and they Said I needed to resend a transcript cuz they couldn't find it in my folder. I'm in the top 200 list number.
I guess they are sending the letters to people who claimed credits but never verified them. Like i said im top 50 ... Never received a letter...i have the intranet account and there is a verified check mark next to all my credits ..

If u came on the job with 60 credits all u need to do is send away to excelsior college for the academy.. Guys i worked with did it ... Have them send it to the job and you have 93 credits

I got it too about 3 weeks ago. I'm in the top 100. Apparently they didn't have record of me having any credits. Most likely someone at apd never forwarded it to them. I went to my college and got my official transcript and brought it to the education unit at the old Academy. The lady there just told me they are getting a head start for the new list.
I was checking the intranet and under my education tracking they verified my education again on 2/12/15. I sent an updated transcript back in June and it was updatedon 7/8/14. Seems it was verified again. I am in the 400s.

I called the unit, they made a mistake. They thought I had remedial credits. If you have any remedial credits, it will not count towards Sgt. Make sure you check your transcripts.
I have also been a long time reader and this is my first post. I'm on 2013 list also and after reading this thread I went to check my credits and none of my 100+ credits were verified. I was told by an old sgt to check this out months ago because people always assume everything is okay in that area. When I called they realized what they had overlooked and fixed it right away
Keep on top of it. Mine has "120 Credits" but it doesn't reflect my actual BA based on the transcript I sent in years ago. Under highest level completed, it has me under "ND (No Degree)- College Study". Useless civilians.
