From BMOC

It's not really news. I'm just gonna tell u what Lt from bmoc told us. He said he doesn't know about next month class yet. But if there's one then he will know 2 weeks in advance. Also he spoke about cutting current list. He said they have been holding off 2013 list for almost year and a half now. He does not have any info on wether they will cut 2011 or exhaust it. All that he said was "They cannot have 2 active lists at the same time." So they will either rush the remainder of 2011 list or cut it off.

There can be. It's happened before on both Sgt. and Lt. exams, where there have been MOS from two different lists in one BMOC. With 275 names to go and one year plus a few months on the 2011, history and common sense would dictate it will be exhausted. No list has been cut prior to expiration since the 70 passing score was instituted. However, of course anything can happen.

FYI: the 2006 Lieutenant list was cut. I highly doubt this will happen with the 2011 Sergeant list.

It wasn't cut, it expired 4 years after the clock began (first promotion).

2 lists can run at the same time if u have people on earlier list solely waiting for promotion based on lack of time in rank.

@63ASAP, my bad, you are correct it expired. I meant to say people died on the list which I strongly believe will not be the case with the 11 Sgt list.

Can it happen legally? Yes. Probability of it happening. Less than one half of one percent.

No worries. Yeah, I totally agree. Unless it takes over a year to clear 275 names!
