It's a hit or miss but there have been December classes. Hope for a big class of 75 to make up for the down month this month. I know people who paid good money to study for a lieutenants test.

You must be promoted at least one day before the test is given.

Shots fired you are good. Odds are two classes for you. At most 3. You have room for 1 or 2 more down month. So don't sweat it too much. Cross your fingers and hope for classes of 50 plus.

FYI they promoted the October 2011 BMOC early so they could take the exam. So it's a possibility that even if you make the April class you will take the exam. (You don't graduate early they will just give you your shield early)

shotsfired, you'll definitely make the lieutenants test there's no doubt my mind. My friend is in the 1440s and he studying hard like you and he doesn't have a doubt either

Do you guys really think there's going to be a December class? Btwn Christmas and new years, do you think they'll put a class in during a month with 2 major holidays, and the biggest department wide detail? As much as I want there to be one I think there done with classes for the year.

To the guys who are THISCLOSE, for sure, it's very unfortunate that there will likely be no Nov class. There HAS been Dec classes in years past BUT because of the holidays...you have to operate under the belief that there will be NO DEC CLASS. Expect the worse and hope for the best.

Yea, I'm trying to be optimistic about it.
I was also thinking if they were going to have a December class they would probably put it in , the last week of November, so we would be out the week before new years. I don't think the department would care if we were in for Christmas, but for new years they'd definitely want all hands on deck. So fingers crossed.

Unfortunately, I think yes there is going to be another down month between January and April 18. Just look at the history. In 2013 there was only 7 BMOCS out of 12 months. On average they skip a month every 2-4 months. As to January. Last two years they did have classes in January, but they were small. 2013 had 28 people. 2014 - 33.

It is hard to gauge historical figures with bmoc classes because there is a new administration now. Several people I know say Bratton is all about promotions. He pretty much wants 1 and 4 as opposed to the usual 1 and 8 on the job. I personally have a very very good feeling about December. there is a capt class going in for a December bmoc, so that is a good sign for sgts.

The last LT test they promoted the cops in the database to sgt so they could take the LT test. Hope they do the same for the guys that may be in an April class.

This is where we stand with classes so far. HOWEVER, as you all know, the department can do whatever the hell it wants to do and so these numbers are just for you to look at. But these are the historic figures for promotions.

If December ends up being a down month too, then this year will have been the lowest total for promotions since at least 2011.

You're very welcome, but for what it's worth, I gotta agree. You need to just chill a bit tfguy. When there is news, someone will post it, trust me.

Your time will be here soon. We were all in your shoes anxiously waiting to be called. I just got called in for October, you will soon as well. The time in BMOC flies by as well. Hard to believe in another week it's the ceremony.
