Pay step question

At what point do you hit the second step in pay? Since there are 5 steps but 4 years to top pay, when does the second increment hit. As per the bmoc presentation the pay scales are as follows:

$79763

$79984

$80147

$81326

$98072

So we hit the first step 79763 when we get promoted. Whens the next step?

Say you get promoted october 2014 so it would be as followed:

October 2014- 79763
October 2015- 79984
October 2016- 80147
October 2017-81326
October 2018-98072

Hope this helps.

Screw the steps... I wanna know where I can get some OT as a boss besides impact of transit.. I am talking about details outside of the ordinary Pct, td and housing.

Bklyn I'm with you on that. The pay cut in the beginning is gonna suck.

I will never get used to the fact that supposed leaders of men routinely have such a hard time understanding the extremely simple (yet crushingly stingy) NYPD pay steps.

How many chart days to sgts get? Both, if they do the regular 8:57 5-2-5-3 patrol schedule, or the 8:57 steady rdos? Thanks!

Im waiting for someone to ask the question for the six hundred thousand time. "so if you are a detective do you got to top pay ?"

So here is the answer preemptively. If a detective starting salary is 83,806 find out where that goes on the pay scale chart in the first post. Now go to the next step and see what it is. Is it top pay ? I guess you go to top pay then.

Guarantee someone still brings this up anyway.....

Question? If I'm a detective do I go to top pay or do I take a 10,000 pay cut and start from the bottom?

Yeah queens everyone knows you were being sarcastic. It's like someone creating the profile name FDNYSOON and being on this promotional website. Clearly just a joke. No real intentions of going to FD.
