You can't compare a lirr strike to hurricane sandy. I know I won't be seeing any ot for a lirr strike nor will a lot of cops.

650 new recruits newly graduated equals about 80 sgt's needed. 967 recruits presently in the academy equals about 140 new sgt's needed. Approx. 40 vacant spots due to terminal leave and 28 vacant spots due to Lieutenant promotions. At this very moment currently the Dept needs about 290 Sgt's by January just to be even. Every month there's promotions or retirements add that to the list. That's not counting how many numbers they are already down based on Bratton wanting higher odds. 7-1 instead of 12-1. Trust me the need for Sgt's is very much in demand with or with out All out.

The recent academy classes are just enough to replace retiring cops. There's no increase in numbers at any rank when a class goes in.

There hasn't been 1000 retirees in the last 6 months. And there won't be in the next 6 months. If 1000 rank of Police officers retired every 6 months the number of uniformed personnel would be a lot lower than it is And if 1000 are put in, in January that's even more new hires.   over 2600 cops did not retire from January-January?  I would say more accurately 1000 retire per year on average In the PO rank.

The August class would only be just promoted a few weeks before "All Out" is supposed to end.  That is of course if civilians haven't by then filled all their positions.  If this proves effective, i can see them extending this "All Out" even longer.

 Sure there was.   Last year there was 2 down months in a Row.  I love the way down months translate to the end of the world and list cuts to every one. Lol.  Relax.   And it's too early. i would be surprised if any one in this dept truly knows yet.   When Brat confirms that's when I'll believe it as truth. And even then big deal.   The Dept. Hasn't even released a finest with a list. Which means to them there's no list And even then it still waits.

Before I post this let me say; I dont think this list will be cut. No rhyme nor reasons. So take the following with a grain of salt.

My CO told us they are cutting the list. The way he/she said it made it seem like he/she thought everyone knew. The reason I post this is because this CO is JUICED. Now when i mean Juiced, just think what kind of connects a CO has to have to be considered "Juiced".

I only post this because he/she is not a bull**** artist but I will add that he/she said thry "heard" ... whether the CO really just heard a rumor or he/she has real info who knows . But I thought id share this. Better than nothing !
