PERB ORDERS CITY AND PBA BACK TO THE BARGAINING TABLE
Dear PBA Member,
As you may recall, in November the PBA filed a declaration of impasse in our contract negotiations with the state Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) and petitioned PERB to assist in resolving the dispute under the Taylor Law's impasse resolution procedures by appointing a mediator. The City filed written objections to the PBA?s declaration of impasse, citing the change in administration as the reason for its request to return the parties to the bargaining table.
Relying on the City?s representation that ?there is a likelihood that the new administration and the PBA will benefit? from resuming negotiations outside of the impasse resolution process, PERB ordered the parties to return to the bargaining table, indicating that it found "both the optimistic expression and repeated requests made by the City to be reasonable ... provided it does not merely result in further delay." In addition to directing the parties to return to the bargaining table, PERB has appointed a facilitator to monitor the negotiations and report back on whether any further progress is made.
As our talks with the City have made little progress in more than three and a half years, with the parties? views on wage increases and compensation being wholly irreconcilable, we continue to believe that there are ample grounds for an impasse to be declared and for PERB to appoint a mediator. Nevertheless, we will comply with PERB's request and will continue negotiations in the hope that there has been a change to the harsh and inflexible demands that were advanced by the previous administration. The City, for its part, must follow through on the claims it has made to PERB that the parties will benefit by returning to the table, and must not merely seek to protract the process for some perceived advantage. NYC police officers, who have served this City so well with 7,000 fewer police officers, deserve to be compensated like other police professionals in this area and to have their contract resolved expeditiously.
As always, we will continue to update you as events unfold.
I'm feeling good...PERB basically said to the city we will give you this chance but don't let it be a delay tactic... Hopefully they want to start out on the right foot... I wouldn't expect 3.5 or 4s ... But maybe 2 2.5 or 3s HOPEFULLY... We will see

The never got to Perb, just because its on a website doesn't make it true fellas, if that is true where is the official statement from PERV itself, we would have all gotten one... The PBA Propaganda has everyone convinced patty lynch is aces, when he failed to step up to the plate. Those guys up in their offices have lost touch with their membership and have become too caught up in politics.

I can't believe you might be a supervisor one day finest because I'm not sure you are grasping the content of this communication....whats your deal? Are you the type that thinks everything is a conspiracy? Are you always the victim?
No I'm just not a conformist that likes to fall in line and be a sucker to an administration which has failed to truley stand up for their members. I watched officers get arrested and or suspended for a practice which was known as a Courtesy denounced as a crime, to watch us as a police department get slammed by tactic used throughout the nation as a terry stop, but renamed by our department the 250 and watch the brass whore the tactic out forcing our membership to pressure the community just to fill a "quota"... Shakira I hope you just are not following the union blindly without seeing that they have become extremely political and are looking to work something out with the ultra liberal Deblasio...

Wow... I understand your frustration. But we are simply talking about a contract...not the entire jobs issues...you might have some underlying issues you need to deal with...yes this dept is vindictive like no other... But if you truly dislike it you can always resign...we all bought the ticket... And some got the $hitty seats....that doesn't mean you walk around pouting all day because if that's the case once again.... Resign .... All I mentioned was a contract update and you started whining and crying foul... Then started rambling about ticket scandals and the like... Surprised the Dirty 30 wasn't in your rant. RELAX
The same guys in control of the union during times of duress have failed, what do you expect those some guys to achieve success in contract negotations? Wake up their hips may not lie shakira but their lips do. I'm great at my job and am for from resigning and from being a disgruntled worker, same as everyone on here I'm just sharing my opinion, this is an open forum or are you a moderator on here for Patty Lynch Cakes? Don't be foolish to believe everything you read...
