THIS goes out to those people supporting this SBA lawsuit. You are only screwing over yourselves by possibly delaying the next Sgt exam offered (prob in 1 1/2 years). STOP CRYING and TROLLING. Take the next one and crush it.
SBA is just "thinking " about suing... I emailed an unamed promotional school teacher yesterday and he said no worries ...while the test was a little off... They did advise u of the circumstances and that he has never seen a test thrown out..... Besides if they did I would sue for future wages/pension compensation I was due lol....
The sba will file a suit on this. I they don't, who knows what shady stuff the city will do on the next test. We can't afford to sit back and let this sort of trickery and deceit become a precedent setting event.
Let them. The sooner they file it, the sooner it will be dismissed. They tried a lawsuit with the LT exam too with all their "magic" and "trickery" and "deceit" lmao. It was dismissed in a one sentence ruling by the Judge. What's their argument? Inadequate notice? Sorry, covered by the amended NOE. Not enough time? Sorry, but DCAS will show that a comparable amount people passed it anyway conpared to previous exams. Unfair advantage/disadvantage? Sorry, everyone took the same test with the same questions and the same amount of time. Guess what else? DCAS is the standard setting authority when it comes to the administration of these exams. They choose the questions and the amount of time to administer. No one else. Standards are allowed to change. 60 college credits weren't always required for this job just like a 70 wasn't always required to get made. Get over it and carry on with your lives. There will be another test, so instead of talking about trickery and magic and deceit, spend your time learning from your errors here and preparing for the next exam. The SBA will certainly not engage in a course of action which would disenfranchise the hundreds of test takers who both adequately prepared and effectively managed their time resulting in a passing score. There will be hell to pay before we who passed allow crybabies to try and take away something we worked our asses off for.

You're 100% right. The test was different but that doesn't make it wrong and it would be messed up to screw over those who passed bc some people failed. People fail EVERY test, facts of life. What can you do? Study harder.
The FDNY LTs test in 1986 was tossed and all the law suits and challenges couldn't save it just sayin
Yea it was but due to one group of firefighters illegally gaining access to confidential test info thereby creating an unjust advantage over other test takers. Sorry, no such condition exists here. Did you really think I wouldn't fact check it? Lol. There is NO comparison to this situation. Cheating by one group of test takers is always valid grounds for invalidating an exam.

FDNY's tests are also 'racist.' Not sure how that works, but hey why not give that complaint a chance for the sgt test?
I always got a good laugh out of the "racist" exam. The above example actually involved cheating though by a fraternal group of firefighters known as the Vulcans.
