The Key's 2006 "Rewrite"

What did you think of it? I didn't think it was that good but that's just my opinion.

Yea it was 96 questions, there was also about 10 judgement /discipline before so over 100. I thought it was very straight forward and not that difficult. How did everyone else feel? There were 2 questions I didn't count because they were poorly written, 71 and I think 84.

question 84 was a bit ridiculous I think. I just can't see the logic behind collaring a good smaritan. People could argue the good samaritan law in New York would protect them because the guy was acting in good faith. Even if Spielberg was standing there I'd tell him to take a hike.

yeah i thought it was straightforward too. Did they make it harder/easier then the 2006? usually they make it harder but not sure. On question 84 they give the explanation that the person has to make sure the crime HAD to be committed to not be collared, but the body of the paragraph said it happened right in front of him so i dont know what to make of that one

There were a few mistakes in there. Question 1 and question 88 weren't updated to reflect recent interim orders which is annoying....other than that I thought it was really good. Key's rewrites are gold. Their packets and iPad app have the most test like questions.

I was expecting the answers to kins of jump out of the page at me.  I was kind of surprised when they didn't.  I hope the upcoming test is a little easier.

Were there any mistakes or outdated questions in 2010 rewrite.

The actual exam had 7 throwouts and 8 double answers.

I thought question 1 nitpicked at a minor difference in on word, "function", but was accurate in the correct choice. Question 88 was an absolute mess and outdated, so I got that wrong, but I don't count that one since multiple choice were technically "incorrect" and they wanted the least correct answer.

Also the missing person question was based off an in basket question and thought that was a bit unfair and strayed off the procedure quite a bit with the right answer being calling the level 1, which in the procedure doesn't have you necessarily doing that for anything. That was question 71.

The "good samaritan" robbery intervention seemed like a cheap shot. Hopefully none of that on Saturday. The math and grammar were groundballs and spelled out what they wanted exactly in the math, unlike the 2011 Lt exam where it was math mixed with opinion?

Overall though, good fair exam for the most part, hoping for something similar on Saturday. Passed that rewrite by a wide enough margin. Going to take the 2010 rewrite today...

FYI: Here are questions 1 and 88 which are updated:

  1. Captain Rios, the Executive Officer assigned to the 73rd Precinct, is explaining the various duties and responsibilities of the position of Operations Coordinator to the newly assigned Lt. Barron. According to P.G. Procedure 202-11 Operations Coordinator which of the following is not a properly stated duty for Lt. Barron?

    1. A)  Supervise the performance of administrative functions of the command.

    2. B)  Coordinate all overtime programs within the command.

    3. C)  Coordinate the Human Relations program of the command by maintaining close liaison with the Borough Community Affairs Coordinator and the Commanding Officer, Community Affairs Division.

    4. D)  Ensure Gun Safety sticker is affixed at all firearm safety stations.

      1. A) P.G. 202-10 step 4; this sounds good because you have seen it before. Choice A is the duty of the Executive Officer. Very tight question.

      2. An assault occurs inside a bowling alley where the two combatants had been drinking after a tournament and an arrest is made. According to 214-34 Police Action in Licensed Premises the commanding officer is required to do all of the following except;

      1. A)  Review and sign the Police Action Licensed/Unlicensed Premises form.

      2. B)  Ensure the Police Action Licensed/Unlicensed Premises form is forwarded direct to the Commanding Officer, Vice Enforcement Division.

      3. C)  Direct the arresting officer to complete an Affidavit of Sale of Alcohol form and have one copy filed in the arrest folder.

      4. D)  Ensure a copy of the Police Action Licensed/Unlicensed Premises form is forwarded to

        the Department of Consumer Affairs

      5. 88. C . 214-34. (I.O. 18 s.2011) Affidavit is prepared for sale to a minor or undercover.

Yes but under the IO, the PAL/UP form does not go to CO, VED either. So that is a double answer.
