No idea. But if the job was short SGT's, then I would think that this list will continue to be promoted off of and not get cut. Yes there is another test in Oct, but what does that mean...? Not much other than the fact they want another list ready to hire SGT's after this list is complete. Those are my thoughts, no inside info. Am I worried? Maybe a little bit. I'm in the 1050-1080 range and hoping for the best. Brat is nice enough to provide info to us and she's been spot on for most of what's going on and her prediction is the list does NOT get cut.
1993,94,95 had 2500+ classes. Thats over 7000 people eligible to retire in the next few years. They may not begin to promote off this new test for two years and they'd still have 4 years to go through it. I wouldn't worry too much about the list dying. It's possible, but not very likely. Speculation based on experience.
Shortage? Yes and No. There might be a shortage but the job is willing to do more with less to the extreme. We look around and most commands are understaffed with sgts but the job keeps delaying the promotion of new sgts. There is a reason this is happening. I hate to beat this drum but this list will get cut off. I am hoping I get made before that happens.
Why? Cause he or she is stating something people dont want to hear? There is a possibity that it could be true. So lets not jump to any conclusions. Everything here are opinions and people should be allow to state their opinions.
