RE: When did the current LBA contract expire?

Notice how they are trying to hide the fact that there are 11 months of ZEROS up front. Anyone that votes yes on this contract needs their head examined. Even more disturbing is the sight of the union heads hugging and shaking Douchblasios hand after the hatred he has spewed against us recently.

So if the pba scores in perb, we are stuck in our contract? Also they mention something about some kind of committee to explore some savings for the city? Can you be less specific? And why are we negotiating along with other unions?
In case you don't know, you can't run for LBA office. It seems to be some kind of mafia. Don't ask questions. I hope they are getting some benefit from this BS contract, because nobody else is. Don't let them come around and convince you how great this contract is... it isn't.

Correct, but the letter posted here also states: "Agree to participate in a committee of uniformed unions to analyze uniform retiree health care with any changes that result savings to be shared with the city."
Sounds like we're going to screw retirees. The statement is too open ended and suspicious. Probably going to stick retirees in obamacare. First we give up retiree benefits, so what will we give up next? No chart days for 10 years? It's a slippery slope.

I guess the LBA is too busy trying to push this terrible contract on members that they don't even publicly address the fact that two members were assaulted during these protests? The DEA is offering a reward and the SBA is in the news everyday, but nothing from Louis Turco or any other members of the monarchy. I guess if you aren't elected you don't really need to appease your members. This really needs to change.

I'm curious. How does the LBA work if there's no election? Who's the king maker?

I believe Turco was appointed after the last president died. I think they just make an internal decision. My old partner asked questions about the process when he got made and they weren't happy about someone questioning them.

It may be just me, but after all that has happened, I wouldn't sign any contract with this mayor. Wouldn't want him to take credit for anything. Wait for the pba and go to perb.

Its def not just you, i feel the exact same way- dont care how good of a contract it is! Id never want him to have the satisfaction and the feeling that a good contract means we have forgotten everything he has said and done to this point and that we forgive him.  A new contract doesnt bring those 2 cops back, it doesnt erase his support for the protestors, his alliance with sharpton, his remarks that he trained his son to be scared of us. He can take that contract and stick it up his a$$....

It was a bad contract to begin with. Hopefully now many of you guys can come together and somehow turn down this deal.

Not that i like this contract.....but look at the troopers with 0s.......some agencies were offered ****tier deals...

I agree that 0's would be devastating in the long run for both our pay and pension, but troopers start at $66,905 and we start at about $41,000, big difference. I think we would do better in perb. Maybe we can wait it out and negotiate with the next mayor in 2017. Hopefully this contract is voted down. We should then declare an impasse and begin the process. Don't give this guy anything.
