Sgt 1st step pay

You basically work your way to 80,000 during your first 3 years. At the start of your fourth year is when you get that big bump to 98,000

This is the salary chart from the SBA website.  The last column is the Night Shift Differential. Hope that helps a bit.

I know the first year annually is 78,957 along with a 5 year longevity of 4830.

But what is the shift differential for year 1?

I'll have 8-8.5 years on when I get made.

Thanks bro.

The 10% NSD that rate is to be applied to our 80 hours every 2 weeks to calculate the Night Shift correct?

You're very welcome. I'm no bro though. smile The rate is applied to the hours that are considered for night diff. Anthing 1600 hours and later, up until 0700 (I think) is factored in. As a frame of reference: I am a Sgt. with more than 5 years in rank and my NSD every two weeks (before taxes) is $287.52. I work a modified 4x12 tour.  Hope that makes it clearer.

They might as well pay us in peanuts. It's a shame how little we actually make, in comparison.

Is it the start of your for 4th year or do you need to complete four years?  In other words, in month 37 of being a Sgt, will I be at top pay?

My plan is to be a lieutenant before I hit top pay sergeant. Who's with me?
