I was just at 1PP a few hours ago, and someone from the Shield/ID Card Unit said that they do process some people who were on vacation, or AWOL five consecutive days (just kidding on the AWOL) on the morning of promotion, since you have to be there two hours prior to the ceremony. The issue to me is, with everything else one might have to square away before Friday, who wants to wait until the last minute?If it was my RDO, I'd go, but I guess it also depends how far you have to travel. I'm just minutes away, in a van, down by the river.

All depends on the vacancies. Classes aren't scheduled in advance to a specific month.

Someone else posted 51 vacancies so 37 going in leaves 14 vacancies, plus 17 captains going in so is it fair to say there are 31 vacancies??

I think they posted 51 on terminal, not 51 vacancies. Check the post again.

It's -14 lts with 51 on terminal. So, 14 lts + 17 getting promoted to Cpt is 31. Assuming at least 6 of those on terminal retire you're at 0 with everyone hoping the remaining 45 on terminal run for the hills. That and as I've been saying, come July 1st there will be many more on terminal. I have no information as to whether they'll be a July or August class, but Aug 29th being the retirement date for 2500 mos (July 1 commencing their terminal) there will be well over 100 on terminal this summer. Hopefully more.

Only 39 are getting promoted to LT. You counted the "promotion to sgt supervisor det squad" also. Look at the bottom of the page.

Can anyone explain how someone is getting promoted on Fri but their name is no where on the list? How can they come down on finest for promotion but not be on the list? Am i missing something?

If they had to go to Carb first to get cleared they will get promoted due to civil service law but may miss bmoc. Happened to my friend in the last sgt class. He was promoted upfront and then had to make up the bmoc a month or two after.

This current bmoc only has 58 names on finest I believe but on reality 70 something Sgt's are in it because there's a bunch who were promoted up front.

But those people are on the original list when DCAS puts it out. My question is how can someone get promoted when they r not on the list AT ALL?

Military members take make up exams when they return from overseas. The list gets adjusted as a result.

The person you are talking about getting promoted tomorrow was out LOD. Took the test months later after the list was established and after learning all the questions. There have been 15+ people promoted on this list already from scamming. There are a few legitimate military that took the test later, but most are scammers.
