i was told that you can get into bmoc before you hit 5 years just as long as you graduate with 5 is that, can anyone confirm this?

The only time that would apply(promotion up front) is if you were away(eg. milatary) during the time you would've been promoted. But if you got passed over for any other reason(eg. time, credits etc...) you would NOT be promoted up front.

Not entirely true. A good friend of mine was passed over because the department bungled his transcripts. At the time, promotions were coming rapidly so he missed two classes before it could be fixed. He was transferred to 1PP in the middle of the second BMOC, promoted with them but with an effective date of the first BMOC he missed, and then sent to the next BMOC as a Sgt.
