I never went to Phase 1 before i got promoted a few years ago, i don't believe its required or if everyone even goes. Plus they give you things to do that you'll never get a chance to do ( sit with D.O., go to compstat...) especially if your on patrol or in a busy command.

Maybe they will start promoting every month again. Last time Phase 1 was active for awhile was in the very beginning of the list. Since we all now know that the predictions of no hiring were wrong, they're obviously going to need more sergeants.

Phase 1 is all random like everthing else there is no reason to what they do. They pick phase one candidates like we do check points.

Anyone know if 50 will actually advance the list at all or will everyone be backfills due to time, jam ups, college? I mean aren't there over 100+ people that were already passed over due to those reasons?

Only 34 have been passed over at this point based on time. The list will probably advance aprox 20 with this class.

So far 7 classes have gone in 72, 48, 55, 77, 57, 51 and 56 in each class. We know 50 are going in on the 28th. Of the 50 there are 34 that have just become eligible and assuming all 34 are good to go then that leaves 16. As you can see from the past 7 classes there has never been a group with an exact number. So just based on the information i provided i believe this list will goto number 538 (534 would be exactly 50). Obviously this is no guarantee but i think is a vert strong possibility. And i already counted the 2 upfront promotions in group 7, so they will not effect this class going in.

So about 34 backfills due to time, no idea if college or jam ups going to the CARB are cleared up either and that is impossible to know. So assuming that information accurate and between 50-60 people go in on the 28th, the list should advance between 16-26?

No guarantee that all 34 will go in either. Some of the 34 could still get passed over for other things, making the list move even more. Also, some of the other passovers, other than the 34, may have cleared up their probs and will go in the Feb class. Too many unknowns to be able to predict anything.

Nothing on this job is gaurenteed until it happens and even then it might change. Like i stated above getting up to 538 is my guess, but we wont know until the orders come down.

Phase 1 is completely random. I was in OCCB and the 5 guys I knew on the list none of us went to phase 1 before Bmoc. On a lighter note, enjoy Bmoc. It's actually a good time. I was in the July class and we had a great time. Everyone got along and i still keep in touch with a lot of the guys 6 moths later. Good luck

Lt. Eng said this morning at phase 1 that Monday sgts lts n capt will start.. He said the number of sgts is 50 but that number COULD go up but he said about 40 of those will most likely be Passovers.. Anything else i hear ill throw out there..
