RE: Study Again--Not in Stone--But Be Safe

Any civil service promotional exam's list is valid for one. Since there is a passing score of 70%, now if the list is not cut after one year after its promulgation and it is extended for another year then this list will complete its life of four years. Why is it so? .... Because if department extends it for second year then legally by EEO they have to keep it valid for two more years. If it is not done then I guarantee you that it will be settled in court and people will get promoted from this list until April 2016. (first promotion in April 2012 .................to ....... April 2016). NOW EVERY ONE CHILL ************** Ha Ha Ha Ha Ho Ho Ho Ho Ho Ha Ha Ha Ha

HAPPY HOLIDAYS ALL.

This is nice... But that's not how it works.... After the list is active for 1 year, then it must be extended to 4 years unless there is an establishment of a new list. Civil service may then cut the list or allow it to finish based on its discretion... The department has no say in extending the list. It's the choice of civil service. They don't cut lists even with the establishment of new lists. Look at open competitive police exams for example. They let the lists exhaust/expire before starting the next list. It's what they do. I say this list finishes before the next one starts. They did it with the 08 list... They will do it again
