I m in the low 900s and Im not either. Going into the test Oct of '11 I said to myself "anything past 1250 and Im in the danger zone". That was based on nothing but my paranoia.
Agree with RMP, take it if you can, even if you don't study. Would suck to die on this list because you're jammed up and not have taken this test. Good luck to everyone.
Take the exam because there is nothing stopping the 2013 exam from steam rolling over the 2011 exam. One exam must be terminated before the other is established. 2009 was the only exception but that was because the it was bogged down by lawsuits that the city chose to honor before acting but they do not honor them anymore. The city now just acts and deals with the ramifications later as was seen in the Lt's exam.
Anyone who is re-taking the exam also retaking the Key class? I passed the last exam with a good list number, but don't know if I will get promoted. I still have my study guides from the 2011 exam and figure if I get the Interim orders I should be good. I don't want to spend the $$ only to hear the same exact lectures. Is that ok or should I spend the money and take the class? Thanks

If u r not sure that u will get promoted then maybe ur list # isnt as good as u thought.

I figure if they are up to 518 right now and put in about 50 a month in 2013 with at least 1 down month they will be around 1100 by end of 2013. List would be done around september of 2014 if still active. Just a guess

Most likely I will do the same thing. Just go to for 207 and 212 and prob the in-basket as a refresher.
I'm within 200 names of getting promoted. Based on how fast this list has been moving it looks like I'll be promoted before the day of the test. If I were still a cop I'd definitely take the test again just for the day off.
