Wow. 370's and drafted? I would think they are about a year and a half from promotion. No? Why wouldn't they draft from the tail end of the list rather than the middle?

Those guys have less than a year and half from promotion; probably more like 8-10 months.
It's not soo bad. Lots of Ot. No stupid rookies. It's investigative experience on your résumé. It's hands on fun and really good tactical training. Don't sweat it. It might be the best time of your career. Most supervisors never want to go back to patrol and deal with all the bull****. The beginning will be hard because you will be in charge of OCCB funds for case buys and a lot of paperwork goes with that. Other than that you need to learn about kites and read alot of DD5's. bright side is no desk.. No prisoners... No property.. No special category missings... No quest for excellence... So get ready to kick in some doors and have pitbulls scare the **** out of you :)
One week in BAT one week at the Range and then one week back at the BAT again. Then you get assigned to either Vice, Gangs or Narcotics... Thats what I was told...

8-10 months??? They are not going to promote 250 LTs in 8-10 months. Do the math. Lets go high and say they promote 30 every other month over 10 months. With the passovers, that brings the list to about 300.

That's it. But it's actually 3 1/2 weeks. 1 week at the bat. 1 week at the range. 1 week at the bat. Then two days at the range and 1 at the bat for ASP training. Even if your qualified you still do it. Then you get a graduation. The chief comes to shake your hand and off you go lol. Have fun!
I don't post much but just wanted to inform everyone IAB drafted from test #1534 and should be this week and believe it of not the Detective bureau has drafted from this test also. I guess the only thing that came down so far was OCCB. Everyone has been drafted and just waiting on the PC. I know someone who is actually 1 of the 14 drafted by the Squad.

So you're saying that IAB, Det. Bureau, and OCCB drafted eligible candidates from exam 1534? That's crazy, didn't know the squad was that short on supervisors.
I never heard of that either, but it's some brain storming by Pulaski. Maybe it's to mold some new jacks and he's got them for at least 2 years or so. Hopefully some will be retained otherwise its a nice pay cut to lieutenant .

I would have loved to be drafted by the Squad lol.
I know one of the guys who was drafted with me as well. He has negative investigating background... I myself have a brief investigative background. Who knows what the process was when this kidnapping took place...lol
I had heard rumors that the Squads were very short but I didn't think they'd resort to drafting! Wow!! I wouldn't mind being drafted by them right about now!
Higher makes sense. It's the people that are in the upper 200's and 300's that doesn't make sense. I would think that they are only a year away from promotion
Were these guys drafted or did they go in front of the board to go to Squad or even for OCCB itself? It doesn't make sense to draft that low. You have about 3 weeks of training. Then it's an easy 6-8 months just learn what the hell you're doing. But either way if you did get drafted save your money, cause its gonna be a pay cut after you get promoted. Especially if you're top pay doing 50 Hours OT a month.
The guys that were drafted all have special ops background. These guys have the background that occb likes and they're on the list which ensures they will behave themselves while doing there short stay. It's pretty good idea from the jobs stand point
