I hear it a lot.......i just can't get my head wrapped around that.......i haven't really looked that close but it would seem unlikely..........perhaps 2014.........i need to really look at whats going on

I think the test will be announced next summer for a feb 2014 test. The list we are presently on I believe will be fulfilled Before the start of 2015.

I've always said the next test would probably be in late 2013 or early 2014.

I'm assuming the indication he's talking about is the movement of the current list. That's all one can assume. For there to be a 2013 exam it would have to be announced by may 2013. I can pretty much guarantee that won't happen. That's only 1 year after list establishment.

would that mean the list would be complete by 2014 when the new list is generated or maybe a cut of the list?? doesnt make sense for 2013. I would think 2014 would be a better time frame. Talking and speculating will do nothing except get everyone all anxious again!

General Information

There are no promotional exams currently scheduled . When will the next promotional exam be given?

There are indications that a Sergeants exam is going to be given in 2013. When is uncertain at this time. I will keep you informed.

Because of this, I have started to post 2012 Interim Order for those of you who want to begin to prepare. Go to The Elite web site to download them. They are in Elite PG format.

Feel free to contact me with any promotional exam questions you may have.

He's right there is a letter and the letter talks about the jst etc.. as the post stated and there are talks of a test going on. Yes I saw the letter my self and I am a credible source.

Hey Brat yesterday some guys in my command that weren't eligible for the last test got a letter saying that because they weren't able to take the last test there will be another one in 2013 and to call the Police Academy for the JST and Run for extra ponits. Which I thought was wierd but I guess there will be a test in 2013. This letter was from the job not the key or fast track or anyhting like that. Very strange, IDK.

You are right. It's not weird, no one is pulling your coat tail. I saw the letter my self.

This is kinda a curveball to the whole 'List" thing IMO. If there is actually an exam in 2013(which seems likely considering the sources it's coming from like Mike Yanosik), one of two things could happen. 1) They could conceivably 'kill' the list a little early to show that the PD is only hiring the 'cream of the crop' on some promotional exams. (which I'm not saying will happen, but I would definitely NOT be surprised if it did... It's all about 'looks' on this Job), or 2) They could sit on that list for a very long time until this current list is exhausted, and activate that list after this one dies. I don't think any of us know with certainty what really will happen, but just because something hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. Whatever the case, I think people near the end of this current list have a pretty tough decision to make on whether or not they will actually study for that 2013 exam, if it actually does happen. Only time will tell kiddies....

The only difference is the first class from that list ('09) went in Nov '10, 3 months shy of two years later. Because they were still promoting off the '08 llist. Matter of fact the last 10 or so from the '08 list were in the same bmoc class. They exhausted that 700 something list in under a year. I have no information when test are coming out, but it IS possible and seems likely. It makes sense to want to have a list ready to be activated before you finish off an old list, although when has the job ever made any sense!!

I have no inside info on a 2013 exam, so don't kill me for spreading rumors, but even when lists were as large or even bigger than this list of 1663 people the city did give exams frequently. 2000, jan 2002, dec 2003, 3 tests in less than 4 years with huge lists. All the lists were cut early and the Dec 2003 exam list was cut in Oct 2006 even though the list was not established until early 2005.

Once again, not spreading rumors, but IF and that is a very big IF, there is a 2013 Sgt's exam I think the likelihood of the current list getting cut almost becomes a certainty...

At this juncture it is foolish to be thinking about the next exam. Most of us on this forum should be concentrating on the life of this list and not the possibilities of a future exam. The pipe dreams should be left to the rookies and failures.

it's a tentative date. Nothing is guaranteed yet. The more classes get held up the lower the chances of a registration date in February exists.

Oh excuse me.. U spoke to the powers that be so that indeed is a fact? I spoke to the powers that be also. There going to start to write the test in a matter of a week or two. Trust me i know that for a fact! I also know the test will be on June 8th FACT. And if for some reason tha date changes it wont change all that much and the test will indeed be in 2013.

How is it that a 2013/2014 LT test might be happening but yet DCAS has not put a tentative filing date yet DCAS posted a tentavive SGT exam filing date but according to the powers it won't happen in 2013. Hmmmm not doubting anyone in here I'm just saying.

Dcas can post the exam details on the second half of 2013. In fact, their current schedule for future exams goes up to June of next year only.

The test is scheduled for June of 2013 but the job is trying to move it to July because 1,200 and change police officers become eligible in July. I don't post much but what I do post is accurate. Take a look at Exam X; I said the last Captains Test will have no changes and I was correct. Everyone said I was wrong. I am not here to start any ****.
