I did the math for the October class and posted my predictions and was off by a point. I just did the math for the November class. Adding the 42 names, accounting for the passovers for time, I get to list # 499. Assuming a few more passovers for college credits, jamups and CARB, I'm estimating the Nov class gets to list # 505. It would help to know list # 471's appointment date. The other unknown is how many guys on the current passover list have cleared up their problems and will be eligible come Nov. Anyone else have any input?

List number 471 was hired 01-10-2005 thus eligile to be promoted unless he is jammed up or has other issues.

PAA Smith from EMD confirmed that there is going to be about 40 people going in on NOV 5. for future reference just call emd close to the end of the month and she will tell you if there is a class and how many people are going in.

on another note, does anyone know who the Cop/SGT is that tried to defer his promotion the day before the ceremony because he/she didnt like where they were going?

Besides the 42 names they also promoted about 8 sgts up front. This keeps is consistent with the 50 names a month. Maybe the brass feels more frequent and smaller classes will make better supervisors. Who knows...

Anyway if we have 50 promotions a month every month the list is exhausted in about 23 months.

1150 names divided by 50 = 23

23 months from now is September of 2014.

I don't see this list going into the year 2015...this also makes a late 2013 exam very possible. I'm guessing like usual. My predictions are usually off but never by much really. Maybe I have just been getting lucky but here it is...

True it could go past September but I don't believe it will go past December. If it does....well I guess it just does. Lol. There will probably be some down months but also there will probably be some bigger classes.

In my opinion, I think this current list will end half way into 2015. You have to account for economic issues that the city is dealing with as well.

Yeah you would have to say the likelihood of there only being 3 down months in the next 2 years is very low.
