Holding1 posted in another thread "3 chiefs or equivalent...I had 2 and a commissioner. They will call you to CARB if you were on level 2 monitoring, or if you have quite a large mark in your CPI. They will grill you in that meeting, but they are mostly looking for you to say you accept responsibility, and have moved on and up, learning from your mistakes. They scheduled me for carb 3 times, only to cancel twice for no reason. I got skipped 2 classes. The third time, I went and it took 5 minutes. They told me I passed 8 days later. On the 9th day, I found out I was getting promoted the next ceremony. Allzen, you are probably the only one who would know why you are getting passed over, even if you got in trouble years ago, and took your lumps and moved on, the job will still hold it over your head. They will tell you you aren't being considered at this time because they have to tell you something, but if you passed the test, and still have your guns, they can't keep passing you. You will get promoted, just not when you thought. And when it happens, it will happen real fast. Best of Luck! "
thanks doogie, i am in fact on level 3...can i still get promoted or do i need to be on level 2 or no levels to be promoted. all charges and penalties were dealt with last year. although i have a few months of level 3 remaining and closing on my lsit number. also does anyone know what this "promoted upfront" means/?
<---got the green light. I went before the board just finishing my level 2. (Which even though I finished, they still said I was on...go figure) I got a spanking at carb then got promoted upfront because they realized I wasn't as bad as they thought, and were screwing me unjustly. It probably saved them the lawsuit I would have had down the road if they kept skipping me. I know it is possible to get promoted on level 3, its just not easy. Make sure you aren't doing anything to make them want to keep you on monitoring. Keep on top of your boss, ICO and CO to give you good reviews. And make sure you earn good reviews...don't just sit back and say "I'm getting promoted, so I won't write, arrest, etc" don't give them anything. Keep your head up!
