Just started following Capt's threads - rookie questions

I have not been following the current & new lists so I'm not really in the know.  I see that the existing list from 2010 sits at #85.5 of 128 according to the elitestrategictraining site.

Any rough guesses on when the current list will be exhausted?

Any rumors/guesses on when the new list will be published?  How big will it be?

Alright, so with the rumor mill churning out the idea of a new exam in under a year I have yet another rookie question...when to start studying? I did six intense months for the last two tests but am not sure if that's enough for the captains exam. For what its worth, my PG knowledge is still pretty good from prior studying but I have never even seen an AG. Only exposure was the few excerpts given by the key for the LT exam. So my questions are this:

How many months to put in?

Worth buying/studying an AG or just use whatever the courses give us?

If I decide to take it I'm studying for 8 months. They usually ask 10 to 15 AG questions so worth studying.

If you want to study early - I would study the AG - there are usually a fair amt of questions - and that guide doesnt change that often, unlike the PG
