I think they'll at least do Oct. If you look at what I said from the beginning the dept would reflect what they did last year and they have not only copied the same promotion months but are even putting in on Labor Day just like last year. I think October is a guarantee. After that they took a break Nov and Dec but with the list being double the size I wouldn't be surprised if they did a few extra this year. The Dept averages 8-9 classes a year. Let's see how many they do.

Just so you guys know, my new command has 4 openings for sergeants and there are places averaging a least 3-4 openings.. They are in desperate need my friends

I'll definitely let you know any info we get from the BMOC instructors.

At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they kept going, because from asking around it seems like a lot of places are still hurting for sergeants, but no one really knows until that finest comes down.

I hit 5 in July '13 and from day one I thought I'd make it by early 2014 at best...now it looks like I may be passed over with the way things are going. Hope the pace keeps up...

By July of 2014 expect them to be above list #1100.

How did you take the test if you hit 5 in July 2013? I thought the last group was this class hitting 5 in Jan 2013?

I'm in the 119x's and I wouldn't mind one more summer in Manhattan South for the OT we get. All the street fairs, parades etc we kill it in the summer. There is actually so much OT that people complain about it..

If I were to guess I would say this coming class will hit approx 460 on a low side & 475 on a high side. Seems as thought not many passovers coming up in the next class due to a lack of time. I think there were only 6-7 without enough time.

Aug Bmoc was told that there looking to keep putting Sgts in till the End of the year. (never stated if it would be every month) This current class was told the same thing according to someone I know in the class. Hope this helps

Not to rain on anyones parade, but to be fair, Lt Ng's exact words were "With the way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if there was an October class". While I think that there probably will be an October class, I don't want anyone to get their hopes up unnecessarily, and his comment was basically pure speculation.

What # range are you in 20 years?

I am in the early 920s I gave myself the idea that BEST CASE Id be promoted December of 2013. If it comes sooner that would be great.

Dude, if you are in the 920s, you should be promoted way before December 2013. Im guestimating for 920s, the latest June 2013. They could very well hit 500 by December. They are flying through the Lt exam, and rumors flying around they want to give another Lt exam in 2014. You should definitely be made before June 2013. When have you ever heard of a Lt list going this fast?

Its not like there are 1000 passovers. There are less than 100 who are even eligible to be promoted. The list is up to 394 and they have promoted 307. And, I can assure several of those are jammed up and wont be made any time soon.

The last time a class became eligible there was very little movement of the list in the next BMOC. So you can figure whenever the first class is after January the list won't really move, but then it will continue as normal.
