CARB

I have carb scheduled for next week. I have never been, I know you meet with three chiefs or something. Can anyone shed some light on how I can prepare for it. Anyone been there recently or know someone who has? Any info would help. Thanks in advance.

approximately where are you on the list? that might give us an idea of how many classes the job is looking to put in in the near future. As for CARB, never been but I heard they are actually pretty good about prepping you before you go in. Good luck

Does anyone know how long the process takes? Meaning between passing carb and getting promoted? Does PC have to sign off on it?

Once you pass your in when your list# is called. The only advice I can give u ad far as CARB is make sure your dress uniform is proper. And if you have a phone call use it

Whatever you're there for, just be brutally honest when they ask you questions.  Don't try to hide anything or tactfully omit anything when you are asked something.  I don't know how long it takes to clear someone after you go to the board.

Whatever you are there for, whether you agree with it or not, you have to admit to your mistakes and take responsibility for them. They don't like to hear excuses. They only want to hear that you learned from your mistakes and your punishment or monitoring will make you a better supervisor.

Tell them you know Bigote. I will call in advance. The boys owe me a solid.

I have already been passed over for the Lt. class. My CPI is great aside of a few ccrb's from working in a busy bronx command.

I had to do it too. Don't worry about it. You will be fine. I know plenty of people who went through it. Unless you are a giant f up, you will have no problem. Just be prepared for a little beating. Wear your rubber suite that day.

Job let me know how it goes and what they ask, I'm very high on sgt list but been passed over a few times. Was told after my stuff clears up, 99% chance I see Carb. Make sure you know your sick record and get as many recommendations from higher ups in your command. That's all I now right now aside from what the others posted.

Just got notified CARB was cancelled. It was scheduled for Friday 8/17. No further info. Guess I have to wait to call tomorrow to see what the hell is going on.
