Got a letter in the mail today, anyone please help with info

Score for test had me eligible for first class but I'm being held up. After every class goes in, EMD sends me a letter in the mail with the first item checked off stating I was not considered. Today I get the same letter, this time with the second item checked stating I was not considered three times. Above it tells me if items 2-6 are checked off I'm ineligible for further certification. If anyone has recieved similar or knows what all this crap means then please advise. Of course EMD is closed till Monday and this is going to keep me up all weekend trying to figure all this out. Thanks for any info shared.

Why did they skip you in the first place? Jammed up? I got one of those letters, but was skipped twice. Option 1 was checked off for me. I had to go to carb. Call performance monitoring, or whoever has your case. Don't lose all hope yet, they could just be mistaken.

Thanks, held up because I'm waiting on PC to sign off on my negotiated penalty. After that, they told me I'll most likely have a carb hearing also.

No advice is needed...You will sit down with a Sgt and go over what your story is. They aren't looking to re-invent the wheel. You will have to tell what happened. Man up and admit responsibility. Don't blame other people for what you did. Be honest and respectful, and don't say anything bad about a boss. Make sure to say that you learned something from the whole experience, and you are a better cop today because of it. Let us know how it goes. One good thing is you will have your dress uniform squared away for BMOC after you go to carb.

If a PO is passed 3 times theyre cut off the promotional list. But is this what you're saying happened? I'm a little confused.

No they can only pass you 3 times and that's it. After that you are permanently taken off the list. I don't know if this is what you are saying happend. Just make the necessary phone calls. I don't want to unnecessarily worry you. Good luck.

Spoke to EMD this morning, they told me if you've been passed over three times then your name comes off the list. When whatever issues you have going gets cleared up then you can be restored on the list and be eligible for promotion.

That's good to hear. And cry it only has to do with being skipped for jam up reasons. This is the first time I'm hearing it can be restored. That's really good news though.

I know someone that was skipped for a whole year and missed many classes... a lot more then 3... for disciplinary issues. You can still be promoted after going before CARB.  No worries.  Lets put this issue to rest.

As soon as you are eligable for promotion, you will be promoted up front, and go through BMOC as a sergeant.
