OCCB Draft.

I heard a humor last night (from a reliable source) that OCCB will be drafting from the back of the current sgt list and also this current LT list. So the reason for my post is:

1. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

2. What list numbers would be drafted?

3. Time frame of the draft if true?

Thanks in advance, no I'm not a troll.

Why would they need to draft cops? There are plenty out there who put in applications for narco, gang and vice.

Cops on the sgt's list don't get drafted. Sgt's on the LT list though are subject to draft. I also heard that OCCB and IAB were told to look at the LT list for draftees. They would want their two years out of you, so I would expect the draftees to come from around list number 450 through the end.

I have heard the same information. I am a Sgt in the squad, and currently on our list. My Zone Capt was asking us if we had any recommendation's about people on either list. The Det Bureau and OCCB are so short, that even cops in the back of the list are going to get picked up. It's insane. Even at Det INTAC they said the same thing. I dont know who comes up with this stuff.

Are you saying that even DB is considering drafting for personnel? If that is the case, if I had to be drafted,  I would rather be drafted by DB than OCCB and IAB. I cannot believe that with the obvious decrease of applicants with the Bureaus, they would rather force us to work for them than try to improve and get people to want to apply.

Good morning guys. They did draft Sgts. from the last Lts. test. Saddly to say some made the cut, others are Stuck in OCCB because they killed there test. At least God willing all you guys on the current Lts list will definetly be made. I know at least 6 Sgts. (Not on current Lts. list) who have gone before the board hoping to be picked up by OCCB. They are hurting for Sgts. Good luck and Safe tour to all.

If occb drafts you then they should have to play by the same rules as IAB. Two years and out. We all know that means just under 3 years but still there is an end in sight. They take you against your will and it's a lifetime commitment? That's not right.

U go where the job needs you, whether it's IAB or OCCB. Narco would do most of you do nothing cry babies some good. Teach you how to take the nipple out of your mouth and be a street cop. This way you could actually supervise cops.
Waaaah! Waaaah!!!!

Occb is looking to draft qualified sgts & lieutenants. I.e cops with investigative experience who are now sgts/lts .. etc and are OFF PROBATION. They are looking into expanding the gang unit specifically. When they run out of experienced candidates they will take any useless empty suit with a good sick/disciplinary record. OCCB is not a bad place for real cops on any list. It's way different then the old days. Guys do in depth investigations. They also get really good training. (good for resume into elite units) its also a big deal to retire from this job and say you had an investigative background when applying for a job in the private sector. Also when you put on a heavy vest and a helmet and carry a ballistic shield through some savages door fighting through perps and pitbulls......best feeling ever!!!

You want to crush your enemies, driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their women. Seriously though, that is bad ass. Plus the ot is nice. I'd be all for a draft.
