my list number is in the 820's what do you think the time frame is to get to that list number? My partner has become and an A hole lately and I can barely stand being in the cmd anymore. What do you think a time frame might be? 2+ years

I would say that (for once) Crusty is probably throwing out a pretty sound prediction. Best case is summer next year, worst case would be end of 2013 or beginning of 2014. Sounds far off, but that means worst case is a year and a half away and best case is only about a year.

i dont know buddy im sure they will snip this list very shortly speaking to a buddy of mine in the Puzzle palace and hes been hearing

rumors of a list cut toward the end of next year not sure how true it is or not but i would look into it a bit more

List says active for 4 years you turds.... Everyone gets made even if it takes the whole 4 years. God!! Don't go making rumors about the list getting cut until February of 2016....

i think the whole list will be made, but to be accurate...the list MUST stay active for one year, it CAN stay active for a maximum of 4 years. It doesn't HAVE to stay active for 4 years. After 1 year the list can be cut at any time. That is how it is written in NYC Civil Service Law. You can Google it if you want.

This is the exact wording if you're interested....

Duration

The Civil Service Law provides that the duration of an eligible list shall be not less
than one year or more than four years. If a list has been in existence for one year or
more, it shall terminate upon the establishment of an appropriate new list unless the
old list is extended by action of the Department of Civil Service. Additionally,
should a financial emergency restrict the filling of vacancies, the Department of
Civil Service may, in its discretion, extend the duration of the list for a period
equivalent to the length of the restriction. Once a list expires, it cannot be revived,
nor can an individual whose name was on the expired list receive an appointment on
that basis.

Ok. So don't go making rumors about a list being cut next year because they would have to announce a new test 8 months to a year in advance.... And I'm not hearing anything about a new test being advertised. You guys are the worst. If I reposted all the guaranteed false info on this page we would all chuckle... Here are some solid rumors that were proven false..

1 test getting canned or thrown out for cheaters
2 list not coming out
3 list is 3000 names
4 a new cut off score to shorten the list.. Someone said 80 would be it
5 no may 2012 class
6 no June 2012 class

Now people are Saying there will be a new test next year?!?!?? Wtf?!?! Go suck a...

At 50 a pop we Can do 600 a year at most. That's a 2 1/2 year list. I see them doing 400 - 450 a year which is skipping a few months out of the year. So I say this is a 3 1/2 year list maybe almost 4. For example if the hiring per year looked like this ... 450 + 450 + 400 + 360 = 1660. Total of 48 months with 19 months of skipped hiring. Then you are good. If you see it any slower....then take the next test. But 19 months of no hiring is plenty of breathing room. I see them hitting 800 by end of next year or beginning of 2014.

You do realize even if there is another test like in the past the old list usually goes the duration. The way it was with the 2005 list and the 2009 list. A list being established is slightly different than being activated.

I think the key is to understand what the manning #'s for us are at. How many sgts are we down what is the # they want to reach. When I came on each squad had 2 sgts per squad, I wish things could get back to those numbers we would all be promoted very quickly. I'm in the low 1200's I would love the possibility that bmoc classes go back to larger 75 per class but unfortunately it looks like end of 2014 may be my best timetable... Let's just hope for some big movement guys

Yeah 838 recruits graduated yesterday and they're putting in a new class the week of July 9th. Friend at APD said they're looking at around 1100 recruits for July but that # may go up or down as they get closer to making the calls.
