I think its a good indicator getting this letter. I keep hearing that others got the letter and didn't make it on the Sgt's list. I think as far as this eventual list, all should be good to go if you're getting the letter.

hmmmm just got my letter today too.... I got a 64..... you guys think this means anything???
I was told that there were guys who received this letter for the sgt's test and they still ended
up not making the list...

How solid is this info?

So 5/30 is the last date. They do not need to verify 100% they just ask dates and location when served. So list could be out shortly after last appointment.

One question, may have been answered already, but I never claimed the points before-

When I came on the job, I was still in the reserves, my DD214 and Discharge Papers are on file with the Department, will I still be called down to DCAS?
I have not received anything in the mail yet.

If that's the case why didn't they just notify everyone with the first group that were schedule back in February?

I agree with back log. In order to get seniority points you need a 70, in order to get fitness/medals you need a 70, when residency point were in effect you needed a 70, What makes veterans point any different?

Well common sense tells me they wouldnt call me down unless i passed.... But who knows.... Cant be sure unless i see that list. Also outofnarcotics.... Not every1 whos a veteran are eligible for this point. you need to have served during war time.... Have an expeditionary medal etc.... You can call dcas and find out exactly what that criteria is...

I thought you could only use your points once, that is why I did NOT submit for them on the Sgt's exam.

NextLttest-I did not have to use them for the Sgt's exam. I was able to defer it, because of my position on the list. But I went through the whole process of bringing in my DD214. Thats another reason I was asking one of the other posters about someone on the Sgts list that got a veterans notification and didn't make the list. I do not personally know anyone that went through that. Everyone that got notified for veterans on the sgts list with me, to my recollection were on the list.

Who are you asking? I got my letter. I was referring to a conversation that I had in person with dcas over a month ago.

Anyone else that initially failed and now got a veterans credit letter get any of these wrong? Maybe we can figure out at least two or three of the doubles.

There are people who received the letter for the sergeants exam and did not make the list. This is no indication that you passed. You probably passed anyway if you are somewhere in the 60's .

Relax brother... Don't put too much faith or trust into DCAS, the US Mail or any other entity that has something to do with civil service.  I personally feel that you will make it and that your veteran's letter will come.  Just give it a few days.  Good luck and enjoy some of the EDP's that post on this forum.

While we were still contemplating if the review panel was done, I went to dcas and told them I didn't receive my veterans letter. The lady actually asked if I passed, and I told her I wasn't sure. She checked my social sec # and said I wasn't part of the group that got the letter mailed out to. Now with the letters going out now I can't see it being a maybe that you broke the 70. They wouldn't send a letter to anyone who was under 70. Just my observation with my own case.

I will be there this Friday as well. There aren't that many people in this final round of notifications. we would of had more posters confirming.

Can someone confirm this? Is the only day to go this Friday? If so, a march 30th release seems fairly believable. I thought a few people posted they had appointments on the 30th.

Brat says the 30th so it does make sense. Yes I know Brat said another date as well but we'll see. NYG37 you still have time to receive your letter.

I agree with Oneadditional. Posting a picture of an envelope is stupid. Next topic please. I think this has been beaten to death.

I just find it funny that everyone is talking about veterans letters etc, etc but aren't posting any pics of the letters to denounce any skepticism and nay sayers. I mean NO ONE has posted a pic. If u guys can put up all these fancy avatar pics, u can surely post a friggin pic of a letter. geez!
