Your picks as a PO doesn't carry over. It is not guaranteed it depends on the command u go to.

If you passed the test then you should know the answer to that question. I'm not in BMOC now but I was at the academy today and the June class is a lock. Budget cuts have nothing to do with it. Even if it did which it doesn't - the new fiscal year starts in July meaning June has already been budgeted for. Don't forget when the 2008 list was held up due to the economy there were no classes going in and not many retiring AND there were 2 other test given consecutive years that they flew through the lists.

I agree.  June is a lock for a BMOC.  An academy class is going in as well.  The cadets at my command today were getting hyped up about entering in July.

Can one of you guys in BMOC ask the instructors what happens to our vacation picks once we get to our new command upon being promoted? Like for you guys, you'll be getting to your new command in the middle of the year so you obviously cant pick new picks as a Sgt so do your picks from your PO days carry over?

Your picks can carry over to your new command as a Sgt. However it's up to your new command whether you will be able to take them. It's "as per the needs of the department". Your basically at the mercy of your new CO and/or Admin LT

The sergeants my command got out of the last BMOC class just picked their new vacations, on the same list/calendar as all the other sgts that had already picked.  Needless to say, there was not a lot left to pick from.  YMMV.

New fiscal year starts July. I don't see why with a full budget they will stop promoting. Maybe they will skip june because the money for this years budget is done. I don't think this is set in stone however.
