RE: Demand for sgts will remain constant, here is why.....

The best way to solve all thus would be to create another completely meaningless and super gay poll.

Thank You, NotAsgtYe
At least you are a reasonable person that understands what we have and have not going for us in this economical climate. I think it is unwise to assume everything will be peachy. It is safe to be cautious ------a point that Spatan does not realize.

I am sure he is that moron on patrol or impact who suffers from constant tunnel vision. You know the type who throws caution to the wind in order to attain his goal.

A person with these characteristics is a dangerous fool and should never be allowed to rise to a lever of supervising others.

just my 2 cents

I am of the same belief as you, Perpetualparaderest. Until you are made anything is possible.

I dont why all of you are trying to make sense of this job. Anything can happen, they do what they want. They can promote 500 Sgts or the whole list. I thought all of you were around long enough to realize this job is ass backwards and NOTHING IT DOES MAKES SENSE. Just relax and sit tight.

Fools. I am merely providing a concrete example of why I don't believe this will happen. It's a hypothesis aka an educated guess. You guys don't seem to understand that it could take significant amount of attrition To effect the list expiring. You won't understand because you just want to make people sweat. I myself have nothing to worry about, but you are trying to make people who passed even with an 80 feel like they are not going to get made. That's the purpose of my post. To show them through simple logic that you have no way of knowing this and that a good possibility still exists they will all get made. You are called trolls. You talk with certainty, however the only thing certain is that you are all clueless as to how this will play out until it actually does.

Things have been getting progressively better with the city since 2008 here is my reasoning;
Jan2012 -900 recruits hired
Dec 2011 - 1500 graduate academy
Dec 2010- 1200 graduate academy
July 2010- 103 graduate academy
Dec 2009- 250 graduate academy
July 2008 - 1013 graduate academy
Dec 2007 914 graduate academy
This means 3600 cops were hired from 2010-2012
And 2500 were hired from 2007-2009
Looks to me like it's not as bad as some of you are making it out to be
