1.) The list will be coming out In April. This the source is sure of.
2.) The number of people who passed is currently at slightly over 1500
3.) The source verifies that not everyone will be made off this list. Why? Due to the declining NYPD headcount, the need for Sgts will not be in great demand. The source backs his claims by pointing to the fact that during the early 90's there were several huge classes put into the academy under Dinkin's program, Safe City Safe Streets. 1991 was the beginning of the influx of large classes that numbered between 2500-3000 per class. Sadly, these classes are now reaching the retirement age and the source states that early indications are that they are running for the door at an alarming rate. Keep in mind that from 1991-1996 there were 2 consistent large classes per year. Do the math and you will suddenly realize that the need for Sgts will diminish and that the 2011 Sgt's list will be witness to many people dying on said list.
4.) The list has a high number of candidates who scored between 80-88. The source states this is quite unusual and bolsters his notion that some will die on the list especially when said list is top heavy. Keep in mind what the PC stated once before....."WE ARE SEEKING THE CREAM OF THE CROP"
I ran across the latest rumor thread and lets just say that many things ring true. #3 has been a huge concern at my command where we had many people who passed with under an 80. The NYPD headcount is indeed shrinking and there are almost no new recruits going into teh academy. I fear that the dreaded "cut off" rumor from before is slowlybecoming fact. At this pace the department will indeed need less Sgts.
Does anyone know if we can still take the run at this juncture?

Hate to say it but points 1-4 all seem to be coming true. Even my so called friends in high places are whispering the same language. A smaller police force requires a smaller number of Sgt's to supervise it.
former IAB you scored an 83.5 thats great since you stated this on another post that said you were drafted as a sergeant so what are you. here i will paste it for you FormerIAB

I am not proud to say I worked for I.A.B at some stage of my career. I was drafted as a new Sgt during the NYPD RANT debacle a few years ago. Why do I mention this? It was common practice for the more serious rats to catalogue all I.P addresses from all posters and then use them to try single out MOS who had their internet bills under their names. Once the names were cross checked with personnel records then we would GO-15 these mos and ask them about their posts. The reason i mention this is because I.A.B has the capability to trace one's identity via the I.P address. If you are lucky enough to have the bill under your girlfriend's or mom's name then you have nothing to worry about but if that bill is under your name then your name will pop up on I.A.B's data check inquiry. Let us be smart. please do not give these scumbags a groundball.
Moral of the story:
STOP POSTING QUESTION INFORMATION ABOUT THE TEST UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET THAT SPECIAL NOTIFICATION DURING ROLL CALL. Let's wait untill everyone has taken teh test before we act this recklessly.
You got me. When I posted that i thought signing it Det. would make people less afraid of the ramifications of the Warning so i signed it Sgt. Obviously that small change did not deter anyone from sharing exam information. Please excuse my arrogance. I make no excuses for trying to prevent cheating from those who had not taken the exam. Either way, the topic at hand is not my prior post but the validity of the prior information from the other thread. What ever you may think of my post the fact of the matter remains that the points made are valid.
she doesn't know everything but she sure does know alot and is legit, doesnt make nonsense up like most people on here, most things she says are 100 percent accurate and true
