The lieutenant was supposed to first address the prisoner with chest pains even though a capable desk officer was leaving the desk. The lieutenant's second priority was to leave the command and lead the search for a 9 year-old missing. I contested the answer because according to the patrol guide a lieutenant must respond and lead the search for a missing under 10 years old. I felt the sergeant at the desk was fully capable of ensuring the prisoner with chest pains was properly attended to. It seemed like a judgement question. I still can't find anything in the patrol guide stating that this answer was incorrect.

I used the same premise to protest the question. There is nothing in the PG that says respond to sick prisoners 1st. PG however does stipulate the Lt does have a function with a 9 yr old missing.

Prisoner with chest pain in the holding pen should be priority as Desk Officer. Missing 9 years can be searched by P.S. or Det. if P.S./Plt. Cmdr. is not immediately available. Judgement question! Plt. Cmdr sends prisoner to hospital while leaving for search. Lt. didn't need to wait for Bus. I don't think that this question will be thrown out. Not to hurt anyone's feelings, Just a thought!

I am 100% sure that in the stem of the question it states that the prisoner was complaining of chest pains when the l.t. was on meal! So that means the DO at the time should have gotten him immediate medical attention as per the prisoner section of the pg. So the l.t. Technically speaking did not have to deal with this issue. It should have been dealt with while he was on meal. That my friend makes this a bad question and i can see it at least a double answer or a throw out all together.

Interstate 77, that's wrong a 9 year old missing search must be led by the platoon commander or in his absence the duty captain.

Duty Captain supervises search for under 10 years old missing only if Platoon Commander is UNAVAILABLE. Two different thing: immediately not available or unavailable! In this question Platoon Commander was available!
