Another question that should definitely be tossed...
Question # 77 is a judgment type question which should be thrown out because unless they have a body of literature to point to for the correct answer, it is SUBJECTIVE, and if they do have something in writing to point to, it should have been provided within the amendment NOE to properly prepare me to pick the correct answer. In the updated NOE, DCAS did inform candidates of the new material that may appear on the exam, but they were negligent by not informing me of the reference for where that subject matter will come from. In other words, they told me that Department directives and orders will be tested and will come from such references as the Department Patrol Guide Manual, Administrative Guide, Operations Orders, etc. I therefore should have been informed as to where the reference for the leadership/judgment questions were derived from so that I could prepare. By not doing so, they might as well have just told me in the NOE that I may be tested on philosophy and geology. If I was not given the body of literature from where the questions were going to be drawn from how could I possibly prepare?
My answer choice B is better then proposed answer choice C, because choice C would mean me authorizing myself to staying past my tour for administrative overtime which is a clear violation of Patrol guide 205-17 Definition Overtime: A. Non-Ordered overtime which states is not authorized for administrative duties at any level. The Executive officer did not order me to stay past my tour which would then make it ordered overtime according to 205-17 which states that for administrative overtime(May only be authorized by Police Commissioner, First Deputy Commissioner or Chief of Department. It also states in the stem of the question that traffic stat is in a week and that the executive officer wants me to get statistics ready for him. In answer C it says I am getting ready for my presentation which contradicts that statement in the question because it implies that the XO will be giving a presentation.
I think my answer B) is better because it is not a violation of department guidelines and its addressing an issue that correlates to traffic stat, in the answer I realize my platoon is down in checkpoints and I look to address it by taking the necessary measures to have checkpoints done before traffic stat and I still have a week to prepare my statistics which are now showing less of a deficiency.
obviously use this as a guideline, do not plagarize.
we will and dont let the haters that got 71's and think there sh!t dont stink who are posting on here about common sence and all that b.s. Theres the real world and then there the p.g. world. They decided to go in the middle and test ethics with no basis for a determined answer. In real life do i give people e days, yea probably more then i should but when you have a test thats supposed to be going by the book i answer by the book unless you tell me otherwise!!!!

You should have read the notice of exam. It told you otherwise.
the notice of exam is right in my hand not once does it mention a basis for those type of questions only that they may be asked, but yet they cite the patrol guide the penal law, family court acts and so on. I am 150% confident and will bet my pension that your 241 will double
you can be reassured that the department has already acknowledged the fact that the basis for these type of questions "a certain infamous book" was not referenced in the notice of exam that was used to form these questions and DCAS is aware of their mistake!
