So this guy in my command is having a break down--feel horrible for the guy. He was filling out his pink answer key first and was going to transfer the answers to his official scantron sheet once he checked over his answers. Evidently he ran low on time and had to start putting them down fast........so he checks the pink sheet key with tentative key 5 wks later and he has a 74...all good. He orders the copy of scantron----he screwed up on the transferring of answers and started marking bubbles one number off----so his scantron is totally F d!! He s now in the 40s---FAILED. Ugh---feel so bad for this guy----has anyone ever heard of this before?? Our Lt said he s f'd...
I have seen something like this happen MANY times. I must say this over and over and over prior to every exam........that scantron IS YOUR TEST...........dont F it up.........check it 500 times and make sure thats filled out before your pink sheet is. check, check and re-check. He'll only make that mistake once.
Wow that's horrible, and unfortunately there is nothing he can do about it. All that time and money spent and he passed but something like that screws you.
Thats awful for him. but really filling out the pink first....come on guy. The fast track instructors would have advised him absolutely not to do that prior to the test. They gave great tips right before the test.
No idea if this is true or not, but I was talking about this one day with my C.O. According to him some guy years ago was off like that, found out when the list came out and he wasn't on it, anyways he petitioned DCAS, got a lawyer, and ended up getting on the list. No idea how true, second hand, maybe the guy can try, I mean might as well fight for it, can only end up where he is now, worst case scenerio.
I would always circle on test, transfer to pink and transfer to scantron and the comparescantron to test and pink again.......time consuming but VERY VERY important
I double checked my answers twice to make sure they matched .. Was still paranoid that I messed it up so I had dcas mail me a copy of my scantron ... U don't have to go to centre street.. I mailed them short letter with my info and a dollar .. Came week later
yeah---i looked at it with him and we saw where he made the error---he was one off after that and said he didnt catch because he did 80-100 first b/c he heard guys screw the last Q s up.....just really sucks b/c he studied forever and this. and dcas is like---oh well---next exam. it really is a nightmare.
Man that sucks... I made the same mistake on test day, but lucky enough I had an hour and a half to look over my answers and I was off on 7 different questions. I went over the whole test first to make sure every answer I circled was the correct answer then I compared it to my scantron, once that was fixed I compared the test with the pink. Then I re-checked all three.... I still want to go and order my scantron, but I don't have the time.
On a mother note, in my classroom there was a guy that put all of his answers on the test and the bell rang before he got a chance to fill out his scantron.. That **** is worse if you ask me.
This is an awful situation. Though, it should be a learning lesson. Bubble your answers on to the scantron like your suppose to. If you are unsure of an answer as you are doing the test, just take an educated guess. If you have time then go back to it. Leaving spaces on a scantron can be fatal. Once you have completed the whole test and scantron, then move your answers to the pink paper. THE PINK PAPER IS MEANINGLESS. If you make a mistake on the scantron just erase it. Personally, I bubble answers that I've guessed on lighter so if I decide to change my answer it won't be as messy.
