I protested it also Mes. In case distance was a factor I argued that the notice of examination did not state that we were allowed to bring a ruler or similar measuring device to the test (I know grimey but so were they) and the scale of 750 feet used by the naked eye could not be accurate. I also referenced PG procedures 213 and 220 which state the mobilization point should be as close to the scene as safely possible.

Nice, but I don't think bringing a ruler should even have to come into play. Can't hurt though. Like I said, nothing in the question made it necessary to go from 300' to 1000'.

Haz mat procedure states when its a tanker truck it must be a 1,000 foot radius. I fought it on the grounds the other location did not appear big enough to accommodate a level 3 or 4 b/c of a large statue in the plaza. Praying like hell it gets tossed but I doubted.

If your referring to 212-37, the tanker truck exception is step 2, line c, sub 3. Step 2 is establishing frozen areas. Line c is explosion or fire. Sub 3 is Tanker Truck or Military Shipment - extend frozen area to a least 1000 feet in radius. The sub 3 does not apply if the line it is a subsection for does not apply. The question said leak. No fire or explosion, so line c and all subsections of c does not apply. All that applies is step 2 (establish frozen areas), and line a (outdoors - At least 300 feet from hazardous material source or spillage)
