I heard from a few academy instructors that there is an academy class going in January and they're actually looking for instructors.

A lot of guys are eligible for retirement in the next year or two, the city can't lose 5k cops over the next few years, we're already pretty close to minimum manning.

Not saying this scenario is impossible, but there is hope for everyone, even the magic 70s.

Of course someone's gotta come onto this site and post non-sense. Everyone who passed this exam will get promoted. They've just hired close to 650 since last november. With big classes approaching retirement you'd be a fool to believe a 70 wont get you promoted.

All you guys are fools if u actually believe everybody will get made. There has never been a 2000+ list where everybody got made before. For the ppl who got a 70 - 77 on this ground ball test im not trying to still ur shine but u aint getting made. Study harder next time. Oh and if u scored a 95 on this test that would be like getting a 50 on the test i just took fyi.

Don't think it will be 2,000, though wouldn't be shocked if it were. About 1.5k and I believe with the current situation that means everyone will get made eventually. This job is big and people retire everyday. Can't be absolutely predicted, but even if it is 2k I could see that many being made in four years.

If there is a list of 2,000 people it is quite possible people will die like many bosses are going to die on the 06 Lt test. If you are under an 80 gross score hope for big academy classes. Also, hope that more bosses don't stick around with the new bill that allows us to keep are pensions if we get fired

Dude you obviously have no common sense. Ur test was GROUND BALL SON. My driver who didnt even study got a 83! There has NEVER been a sgts exam where so many ppl past. Read the posts. Ppl r saying 10 cops from their cmd passed. Thats unheard of! Now comment on my spelling.

HB is correct, there are too many people on this list and as a result either some will die on the list or a curved score will be introduced like they did back in the 90's. I am doing the run just in case.

It seems about 40 percent of the passers will have a gross score of an 80 or under, real rough estimate. I would be nervous. I got an 84 total and dont feel great.

listen even if that the case let people at least enjoy this, all the other stuff we have to worry let people enjoy this a bit, if it happens it happens dont take it away from them its just not right, let them cross that bridge when they get there.

@H8 whats your deal dude its because of people like you that this job is the way it is, you cant think logical with this city, the city/dept usually does the complete opposite of logical, it might be a long list it might not just let people enjoy, im pretty sure alot of people studied hard but dont do as well as others, i got a 80 (not including other points), and i studied my ass off but was real nervous, but hey whatever, just let people enjoy this.

I am a realist and I too know that my score might not be enough. I recommend everyone do the run just for extra insurance. There will be a cut off score or people will die on a huge list....Things are not looking good for this exam if you scored in the 70's. I scored low 80's and even I am nervous.

I don't know how many people passed. I'm guessing that about 1900 will.

If you have a passing score above an 80 you should be fine. Of course this is just speculation. They have promoted 1400 cops over the past 4 years, that is fact and not specualtion.

If this was any other Sgt exam you wouldve been top 120 easy... However since so many ppl passed it really depends on what ur list # is. If i had to take a guess based on all the info i have i would say u r top 500 and in no danger of not getting made. Be patient and once the first Bmoc class goes in u will get made within 3 years. Dont lose any sleep over it. U got it.
