LETS FACE IT

THEY TOLD YOU THAT GRAMMAR, SPELLING ETC WILL BE TESTED IF YOU DID NOT PICK UP A GRAMMAR.. SPELLING BOOK SHAME ON YOU no

THEY TOLD YOU MATH WILL BE ON THE EXAM IF YOU DIDNT PICK UP A MATH BOOK SHAME ON YOU no

THEY TOLD PG WILL BE TESTED  AND YES THOSE QUSTIONS WERE F**** UP BUT I AM SURE ONCE YOU SIT DOWN FOR A REVIEW SESSION AND COMPARE THOSE QUESTIONS AGAINST ACTUAL PG PROCEEDURES MAYBE ONLY ONE OR TWO COULD BE DISPUTED

THE INBASKET ....WAS NOT A STANDART INBASKET IT WAS MORE ABOUT TIME AND STRESS MANAGMENT RATHER THEN PUTTING THESE ROLL CALLS TOGETHER SO STOP CRYING MAYBE 1 OR 2 INBASKET QUESTIONS WILL BE THROWN OUT

JUDGMENT QUESTIONS WILL ALL BE THROWN OUT BECAUSE THE DCAS DID NOT PROVIDE OR SUGGEST, SUGGESTED READINGS OR WHAT TYPE OF JUDGMENT THEY WERE LOOKING FOR HUMANITARIAN (KIND AND CARING ) OR NYPD STYLE (F*CK AL AND EVERYONE)

ALL I CAN SAY THANK GOD I DID RISING STAR QUESTIONS AND EVEN THEN THE ACTUAL  EXAM QUESTIONS WERE 10 TIMES HARDER

MY GUESIMATE OUT OF 2400 WHO TOOK THIS EXAM 25%-30% DID NOT FINISH.    SO FIGURE OUT OF THE REMAINDER PROBABLY HALF PASSED GIVING YOU A LIST OF 500-600.

THEY DID NOT CARE OR WANT TO KNOW HOW WELL YOU KNOW THE PATROL GUIDE WHICH SUCKS BECAUSE I SPENT 6 MONTHS 8 -12 HOURS  DAY !!!! YES I KNOW I AM A LOOSER AND I AM PISSED NOW I COULD HAVE FLIPPED THROUGH  COP CARDS A WEEK BEFORE AND HAD THE SAME RESULTS .

THIS EXAM WAS ALL ABOUT TIME AND STRESS MANAGMENT THATS ALL T TESTED AND A LITTLE BIT OF LUCK bleh

I WANT KELLY AN THE EXECUTIVES OF THIS DEPT TAKE THIS EXAM AND SEE HOW MANY OF THEM WILL PASS IT, AND IF THEY FAIL IT THEY SHOULD ALL BE DEMOTED TO SGTS, PUT IN SECTORS AND FORCED TO WRITE SUMMONSES AND DEAL WITH THE PATROL BS WHICH THEY THEMSELVES CREATED furious

I cannot believe anyone would stick up for this test or the exam writers. When you admit there will be at least 2 throwouts on the in basket, right there that should tell you it was a very poorly written exam. For those that are stressing grammar and reading, the PG questions look like they were written by people that don't understand the PG or writing any type of fact pattern.

confusei am not defending anyone/anything.

but at the same time i already went through something like that with the 2007 sgt exam which ifortunately passed.  it was the most F***** exam in recent history.  Everyone wa up in arms about that exam only 200 people passed with the proposed answer key and after they threw out 7 questions they got a list of 340.

The same thing will happen here  Its just the way the coockie crumbles.

Believe me i am just as anxious as everyone because after all that studying and dedication i have no idea if i even cameclose to passing

I got promoted off the 2007 Sgt's test also, I was in the first class, I agree it was very difficult, but fair. It made you focus on intricate details to the PG, so basically anyone just studying Key Notes or KSA acronyms had a snowball's chance in hell of making the list. It had 2 doubles and 2 throwouts and 330+ people were on the final list, not sure what it was before the appeals though. The 2003 Sgt's exam was also a tough one, it was probably every bit as hard as the 2007 test bc they went to a lot of obscure stuff- pregnant female rules, lettering on the bicycle, two way flashers on turret lights, etc. but 70 was not mandated so people with 67's as final scores after the points were tallied got promoted. So in theory a person with a 58 raw score could have got made off that list if they picked up residency points, seniority, fitness, or a couple of throwouts. I missed that one by less than a point, but I was a rokkie when I took it.

The only question on the 2007 Sgt's test that got me aggravated was the Viper question with the Finest Log and the 16 plates run. I couldn't believe that was actually on the exam, obscure question? Yes, but poorly written or unfair? Nope. Just that testing on procedures that you will need to know for injured and jammed up cops is obscure, why not through of bunch of BCS supervisors questions while your at it then? lol

A well written in basket should have absolutely no throwouts, it should be like putting a perfectly formed puzzle together, adjusting the Roll Call and picking the most appropriate personnel to use as the situations and conditions change. I kind of of viewed the in basket as the judgement portion of past exams. In this one, the in basket gave you no role to play, multiple roll calls where adjustments were mostly a big waste of time, vague questions with no criteria on some of them to answer properly, and not enough time overall to really put everything together. It was a hot mess that must have been put together by a complete idiot.

The test was that unfair where half the test could be a double answer, no BS. It was THAT absurd! And shtirlitz, I think I remember you, you were the narco guy they screwed the last day before promotions??? I didn't sit near you or know you, but I remember one guy getting singled out and we all felt really bad all based on just where he worked??? It was soooooo phucked up, but I am glad they eventually cleared it up. It took nearly 4 years to find out, "whatever happened to that narco guy they royally screwed over" Well good, they promoted you!
