the OTHER book ............

This is the other book, which is said to the judgement scenarios.

http://www.amazon.com/Supervision-Police-Personnel-Nathan-Iannone/dp/0131131613

I have heard of it through out the years but have yet to SEE it.  Interesting to read the reviews associated with the book.  Many find it out dated and/or unable to truly asses a situation.

I will get my hands on a copy this week.  I have not taken the exam but have heard PLENTY about it.  I have heard from "chatter" that some of the scenarios on the exam came straight from the book, much like they would do with LBB in the past.

Yup, at least 4 that completely contradicted dept procedures in their choices for judgement questions. The toilet paper thief, the EEO, the Lt authorizing checkpoints and discussing quotas at RC, and the Lt authorizing admin OT for his subordinates to get the job done faster.

brat, i was thinking that too during the test, but at the same time, I realized that the test question didn't say according to pg section #blah, blah,blah...so they basically established that this question was not in reference to patrol guide rules...but obviously we are all taught that on test day, we are in patrol guide world, not the real world...and for all you that are interested in this book, you can buy it used on half.com for under $1.00

I chose that you should engage the two female cops in conversation, to determine if there is an allegation being made. I wouldn't want to bring up the female cop's problems with the ENTIRE PLATOON

ur not bringing up the problems with the other platoon, the answer was worded that you would ask if anyone knew if something was going on, your not airing out her business...and besides, your going to barge into the female locker room and engage them, lol

I believe it said to wait, and later engage the same two cops in conversation to determine if there is an OEEO allegation. It didn't say anything about barging into the female cop's bathroom.

no it said enter the conversation and advise them of your zero tolerance policy toward harassment

moreover, why should the LT ask other members of the platoon if he isn't even sure there is an allegation being made?

it's very possible I'm wrong but it just didn't make sense to air out the female cop's problems with uninvolved members of the platoon

what it comes down to, is how you interpreted it and how i did, which is the same argument you can have for any of those hypothetical, philosophical, unethical, subjective, objective f-ing garbage questions.

You can read excerpts on Amazon from this textbook.  The author is really trying hard to be very philosophical about police supervision to a degree that makes almost laughable.
