RE: MASTER KEY

Depends on where you get the definition of "brunette" from. Some say any brown hair. Others say black.

I'm not arguing with you HB. I think it should be a double answer. Being married to a hair stylist, I was informed brunette can be brown or black.

the tattoo one is simple - "limited exception - from CO - nature of assignment - personnel folder" the exception wuld be limited to the nature of the assignment (anti-crime, sneu, burglary etc.) the assignment was the West Indian Day Parade or Puerto Rican Parade....the exception does not apply. The hair clip is 100% the answer although when protested I'm sure it'll be tossed.

Yea but the definition of "nature of assignment" means what he is assigned to permanently (B-2, Conditions, A/C). Not temporarily assigned to for that day (detail).

nature is the reason why its not covered......so they can blend in, in uniform at a detail it wouldn't apply. scumbag question

Who is taking it? Sabbath test was yesterday. I could give someone an updated PG open book test and they could still fail, so at this point, does it matter? You could study for 6 months and a bum off the street could have a better personality and do better on this test with no technical knowledge whatsoever...

Horrible, I'm still hearing horror stories of people barely finishing, and not writing down their answer key. Nothing surprises me on this job anymore, most of those P.G. Questions we're dirty.

I am glad I didn't waste my time studying. I didn't even bother going to the classes or opening one single book. Based on the key posted I got a 52. This test is truly an example of how this job is on the level. They want you to make a decision but the one they already made for you. (Deny, the E-day and ignore true issues). The test was created by a company based in another country just like the equipment we buy. (made in .......parts from.........assemble in.........) LOL

confuse.gif

I wish everyone that study the best of luck. When we decide to study for a test, we are never alone, we take our friends and family along for the ride (not spending time with them etc.)

P.S. If what I wrote is not in "proper standard English", then ***eff it, we can show them that we know how to File an appeal in ENGLISH!

Ray did you post yours? We do need some additional lists, it would be helpful to narrow down what guys had for questions 18-67. to see what the most common answer was.

For the math questions about squad productivity, did anyone else ignore the number of people per squad and just base their answer on which squad actually wrote the most summonses?

i did, isn't that the answer??  it asked for squad productivity, not individual productivity.

you had to include the amount of officers relative to the amount of summonses to get percentages.

Divide the number of summonses by officers, got you an average per officer per squad. Only one squad went up per officer and they barely did.

I don't remember the actual question word for word but I'm pretty sure you had to take into account number of officers, number of days on patrol etc

not at all.. it was all filler. i knew people were going to dive on the math.
#1 asked which squad had the most summons activity.
#2 asked which squad summons activity increased the most from previous year.

i agree, it asked for squad "productivity" not per officer blah blah, it 15 days of patrol a month blah blah for 3 months blah blah was all filler.....not part of the "quesiton"

a squad is not more "productive" if they have 300 guys and write 100 summonses than a squad with 200 guys that write 75. Once again a question on this f*cking test that could be read different ways

lol, agreed.....but my view was if squad 1 writes 100 squad 2 writes 200, regardless of number of cops, squad 2 is more productive.........it didn't ask for individual productivity...it asked for squad

I thought there were 3 math questions based on that info? I made it into percentages per squad in one question and percentages per officer per tour on patrol for another. All it gave you was the word "productive"? Did not set criteria or ask for anything more than that, so I think all 3 can be challenged...

Does anyone remember how accurate these "majority answer" answer keys were for their Sgt's exam? I can't remember how accurate mine was compared to the actual answer key.

I was going both ways with the math questions during the test. I just went the route of which sqd had the most summons. those math questions can definitely be protested. They never asked for percentage. IMO it should have been more specific.

We don't have enough answer keys yet to call this a "Master Key". People should start just posting their answer keys to get more than 12. I am one of the 12 and I can't say I did well at all...

I also think they threw those squad numbers in there to confuse people. As I see it the only right answer is to base it on the total number of summonses per squad. Figuring out the percentages relates To efficiency and not productivity. As an example imagine I have to hire a moving company to move 30 boxes as quickly as possible. Company A sends 3 movers And gets the job done in 90 minutes. Each guy takes 10 boxes each and averages 9 minutes to move each box. Company B sends 6 movers and gets he job done in 60 minutes. Each guy takes 5 boxes and averages 12 minutes to move each box. Clearly the guys in company A are working harder and more efficiently but are they really more productive? They failed to achieve them overall objective of completing the job as quickly as possible.

Additionally only in the NYPD world of math could you take the total of number of summonses and divide by the number of cops and think that you have arrived at any meaningful result. What if I had a squad of 3 cops who wrote 30 summons. Getting the average tells me they wrote 10 each. In reality though I have one super buff rookie that wrote 28 and two smart Bronx cops that only wrote one each.

I did the math based on per officer.
Can you say 1 squad is more productive that another if they have a different amount of cops?

Think about if one if your guys is on vacation for 2 weeks, and only has 10 patrol days but wrote 10 summonses.
And Another guy had 20 patrol days and 12 summonses, who's more productive ? The guy with 12 summonses???

Nursing home question: activity log entry. yes you do an aided card, but the choice then said to give it to the D/O. PG says give it to command clerk who then gives it to D/O.  216-01 step 8. step 5 says make activity log entry with acr/pcr.

Uniform qustion: tattoo is wrong. The rule doesnt specify uniform or P/C so if the nature of assignment is P/C then the letter from C/O comes into play. here you have someone at WI day parade. Nature of assignment changes, note doesnt apply. BROWN CLIP is the answer.203-7 step 7 Transparent or SIMILAR to the color of hair. So those people that argue if a brunette has brown hair, dark brown, it doesnt matter, BROWN CLIP was the answer.

If you want to get technical, the next line to that sentence you are quoting says the clip must be as concealed as possible. So then hair clip girl is wrong.

how are you going to assume that the clip wasn't concealed? the answer just said cop with brown hair clip was a brunette. there was no indication that the clip wasn't concealed.

cop with hair clip was the best answer, move on
