i passed this test with about an 80-83 according to all the compiled lists. I took the KEY. I missed 4 classes during the 6 months. For the first 4 and a half months, i went to the classes, read the packets once in awhile and answered the questions at the end of the packets. For the last month and a half i stepped it up and started studying pretty hard (3 hours a day, 4 days a week). The last 2 weeks i studied about 4-5 hours a day every day. I've looked at the "total guide" and it is just too many words on one page. The Key does a great job of putting bubbles and boxes, and connecting different procedures to eachother which makes it very easy to stay concentrated on the material. It was very easy to keep with the flow of the packets and you simply cannot beat Chief Shea for an instructor. He is hands down the best instructor out there.
I did the Key I agree Chief Shea was great also Capt. Misfud I also read the patrol guide 1x not including 220 cims and 211 court I also used the KSA procedural guide. I went a lil crazy at the end I was so stressed I couldnt figure out a way to cram. All these list has me around the mid 70's I hope so.
I did the Fast Track and was very happy with it. The ability to watch all the lectures and print all the lessons up, along with the Total Guide(hands down best studying material I had), got me what appears to be a very good list # based on the preliminary answer key, and I never even went to a single class....
Mike Yanosik and Chief Banks make Shea and Mudsik look like 2 substitute teachers in high school. I did the fast track for 6 months and went to the Key for the in basket. The Key wasnt horrible but the fast track crew are lifers and true believers, they have no life, and eat, sh*t, and breath patrol guide. Im a lazy guy when it comes to studying anything and these guys just straight up MOTIVATE you!
fast track blows key outta the water. their material is much more straight forward. key has too many lightning bolts, key marks, and stuff all over the page. fast track kills them all...their "stripe" ratings are awesome---every 4 or 5 stripe was on it. the iterim orders are what get people. and the in basket on this test was hard....
I took the key D I Bartoseck or however you spell his name worked wonders... also the training bureau material was on point...
I agree. After attending classes with different instructors from The Key and the Fast Track 8 hour cram, DI Bartoszek was hands down the best instructor.
I am surprised that no one mentioned KSA except for their procedural guide. I found the inbasket to be simple. I used the key for in basket and I also used rising star and KSA . KSA was by far the best study guide. Arthur Storch puts things in perspective and let's you know why a procedure is a certain way. Crys key has me at an 80. I made some pretty stupid mistakes but I say not bad for a 3 year hairbag. Whatever my next test may be I am using KSA
