I heard from a Sgt in BMOC that 1600 signed up for the test and they are letting newly promoted Sgts file for the test. I thought the filing date ended in the summer ???????
I see future problems with this list already !
All this info came from a new Sgt to my command right out of BMOC.
Not worried about studying more, more about future law suits challenging the filing dates. But from the comments posted in response I can tell this site is a waste of my time....good luck on the test.

What kind of response would you like? Why would "they" sue? These new guys may think the job is throwing them a bone, most of us know the city will take money anyway they can being that the city is in such a financial crisis. To sum it up, who gives a crap. I signed up for the test, you did, and about 2500 other sgts. Do you really care about the imaginary law suit someone may or may not file. I know I dont
How can it be a law suit if it is one of the exceptions to the rule as per the notice when u file. Allowing those that become eligible after the filing period was over to late file.
If thats the case then there absolutely should be a lawsuit. They can't open the filing to a select group of people in conflict with the dates on the NOE (except if you were overseas on military). They would have had to open it back up for everyone.
And just a thought, why would they have had to extend it? You don't have to be the rank of Sgt to FILE for the test. Plenty of PO's rolled the dice and paid the filing fee not knowing if they would make it in time

Failure, sorry pal they are not extending your list. Even if someone complains about these new sgts taking this test. Worst case scenario would all be for all those sgts refunded and taken off 2011 list. Should have scored higher on your test.
Bx Bomber, why don't you get on list first, ****ing idiot....with the new 20 year pension law this will be a very, very, very slow promoting list. And no I'm about 500 names from the bottom of the 06 list.
Brat, Tinman and Rising Idiot thx for the intelligent responses..... Now I'll check this again after the test when the voices will matter.

Wahhh, wahhhh, this job is not fair!!!! Wahhh, wahhh, I'm gonna sue! Good luck.
Not quite sure what your problem is dude. Nobody has answered the question yet...How can they re-open the filing period for a select group. (recently a US Marine and Medal of Honor winner inquired about filing for the FDNY exam but the filing was closed. They offered to re-open the filing for two days...FOR EVERYONE so he could file).
Also, anyone in the rank of PO or Sgt could have filed for the LT test. Many did, and are not going to be promoted in time. No need to re=open the filing.
This is for brat, or anyone out there who is a strong studier... What is your interpretation of this line from the LOD procedure?
In addition, if the injured member is assigned to other than a precinct command, or the Police Academy, a supervising officer of such members command, if available, will perform the tasks of the investigating supervisor.
So if the MOS is from the PA - does a PA boss do the paperwork or does a precinct boss do the paperwork?
There was a question (I think from Rising Star, not sure) where the correct answer was to have a precinct supervisor do it for an injured PA member.
I think a PA boss should do the paperwork - but why would the procedure have to say "or the Police Academy" since it would automatically fall in under "other than a precinct command." ???
Things that make you go hmm
edit: the question was from the "Patrol Guide Questions" website. I knew I had the right answer all along.

i have one more day of bmoc and then i have to work on more questions, final interim orders and the Admin guide.......i am going to be very busy......i will let you know as i roll things out
yes.........if those damn bastards would have waited only 3 more days to publish them, I wouldnt have to bother with IO#31 & 32 both of which are major and HUGE !!!!!!!!
You roll the dice with the Admin quest., historically only 2 or so a year...ill be happy to eat those questions and concentrate on the patrol guide....Interim orders will comprise of at least 5 questions.
