They always say that even when they know that there will b one. I dont know why the secrets till the actual finest comes up, probably to discourage ppl from calling and bothering their "busy little world," unbeliable!!!

Can someone give me a good reason why they would keep it such a secret. If you are a passover, you will figure it out after the finest comes down. It doesnt make a difference if a passover finds out before or after the matter.

You will be there soon buddy. Taking the exam is only the first step of many that will make u hate the system

take exam
get a fake answer key (5 weeks of uncertainty)
protest questions
Dcas releases answer key
long wait till they release list
get list number
watch in amazement how many get passed over for nonsense
patiently wait until the department decides last minute when a class is going in
wait to see if its 30,40,50,60,70, or 80 going in.
your 10 names away and feel like you will get jammed up for every little thing
then you find out 1 day before you go in that you have to begin a totally new job as a supervisor without notice.

MY SERGEANT IN NARCOTICS GOT NOTIFIED YESTERDAY TO REPORT FRIDAY 10/28/11 FOR PROMOTION AND THERE WAS NO FINEST FOR THAT. IF THEY ARE GONNA PROMOTE SERGEANTS UPFRONT THEY MIGHT JUST GET A REGULAR NOTIFICATION NOT THRU FINEST MESSAGE.

LoL. Its all my fault. I have a black cloud over my head. What are the odds that they promote 450 people in 6 consecutive classes and get to within a few names of me and completely shut it down. Ill take blame for this one. Lol

I am interested in hearing what Satcom has to say. I don't know if Brat n Satcom r one and the same. But Satcom has been on the money with his posts. Also, I thought Brat said Monday the finest would come down.

i have been following these threads for a while and i have to say that Brat has come through in every situation in recent memory regarding our test, with that said i have heard from someone in promotions that they are still doing the upfront sgts promotion but the number is still unknown, and that the lt and capt #'s are accurate, i'm like alot here sitting on the cusp and hoping to make it in for a shot at next saturday. Im holding out hope for a monday notification. bearing in mind that if we are to be promoted up fron we would have to be xferd by wed, as we will have to sign all of the paperwork leaving the pbs and joining the sba and insurance and all that. Keep your fingers crossed,,,, I am !

ok.......as i thought, the # of 80 was wrong............BUT there will still be an up-front class of 30-40 which will be notified on Monday...........this is what I have been saying all along (i knew the 80 # was off)

Brat and SATCOM are NOT one in the same

i heard that the lt said the same thing, but i know someone in promotions on the 5th floor, they say it is a go on friday ... just they do not know the exact numbers for sgt's.

The LT at BMOC specifically said that there will be 4 or 5 promtions upfront, strictly backfills/passovers- no one whose number has not been passed already. The guy could not be more blunt about it, did not leave any room for interpretation!

This hiccup in the promotions definitely stinks. Hopefully Brat is right about next week, although if she's not I'm not holding her at fault lol. We're right at the finish line and I'm hoping the job doesn't stall. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 40 next week then 75(estimate) to finish it off in December.

Oh yeah I'm on edge. I'm about 40 names away so I'm not expecting to get in if they do 30-40 in the next group, especially if any passovers get put in, but it will make me happy knowing that I'm a few short names away and even if the next class is tiny I'll be in it. Plus, I will have pretty good RDOs for the holiday season so I'll enjoy them while I can.

Called Uniform promotions..."Call back Wednesday, The current class graduates Friday. We usually find out on Wednesdays". I'm beginning to think that November is a wash.

Not necessarily. What they said would be correct following the pattern that they've had for a while. If they are doing this upfront thing, not every PAA working there might know. They tend to try and just get people off of the phone from what I've gathered anyway.
