Reasons to get promoted to LT

It is just me, but I don't see many benefits in getting promoted to the rank of LT. I don't see why people call it the best rank on this job. I know that the base pay difference is about $14,000, but you loose about 28 chart days a year. Also, LTs get on average much less OT and are responsible for so much more. Plus, don't forget all these stat meetings. Any comments? Also, how many years till LT's top pay?

Speak for yourself. As always, it depends where you work. I can't complain and I'm on patrol.

I agree 100%. Don't take the Lt test. It isn't worth it :)

Clearly this isn't the forum for you. You don't want to take the test and you are super happy in whatever detail it is you're in, then you have no business here. Everyone has their own reasons to the test

Lmao!!! Hairlessape, funniest sig I have ever seen. As far as Lt goes, I really don't want to be an Lt, gone are the days where u disappear for 6 hours and come down for the last 2 hours to relieve the desk. The responsibilities are starting to outgrow the payscale. With that being said, I'm going to study my ass off.

This is to the guy who is referring to hairlessApes

You have no class. You have an attention deficiency problem. People like you give police officers a bad reputation out there. you should look at yourself in the mirror and reflect on your real purpose in life. If you have some decency, may be you will try to be more useful and be more respectful. Grow UP!

I review this site for mature insight on the upcoming LT test. Then I see HairlessApe's racist picture. As a minority sergeant, I try to take the high road on racist pictures and insults on this web site. Then I see some picture that drags my brothers back 100 years. Amazing that you are a member of the NYPD. And this response is from my professional side. My other side would not be fit for posting.....

Looks like waitingfornassau, wileone and hairlessApe are in the same boat, three racist losers with a badge. Waitingfornassau, I bet you are still waiting for nassau, you should all do everyone a favor and leave our city, our department of brothers in blue.

Wileone, yes, thank god for the first amendment, but you must remember that as a police officer you are supposed to be better than the general public, especially those that abuse that right.

How exactly does a picture on a crappy website visited by a handful of people "drag your brothers back a 100 years"? Really? Of all the things that have happened to "your brothers" over the past century, this is the big setback? People take themselves way to seriously around here. Highwheel, get off your high horse, if your looking for "insight" into ANYTHING you came to the wrong place. Nothing but rumors and hot air around here, however you can find some laughs. And machine, I am no longer waiting for nassau, that ship has sailed long ago. I am now waiting to become your Lt.. Have fun, lighten up, and be safe.

A Lt, a rank you will also dishonor by the likes of you. Shameful....but whatever, wont waste my energy try to show you your ignorance. Have a safe career hidding behind your rank and thinking that everybody else is beneath you.
