Years in rank

How many years in rank do you need as a Sgt to be promoted to LT?  Last I checked it was 3 years as a Sgt before eligible for LT, but some people have insisted that it is 2. Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks.

2 years in rank. You can look up old notices of exam on the dcas website to confirm it

Sorry for the same ol' repeated question...if I am on the sgt. list for promotion will I be able to take the lt. exam? I only ask cause this test is given only once every 3 years and I am not sure if mid-500 sgt list is gonna make it in time....thoughts, ideas?

No, you have to be promoted to Sergeant by the day of the exam in order to be eligible.

for mid 500's i doubt your gonna get made by the the time the test comes ... if they do every other month theres really only gonna be three classes of people that can take it and they are only at 220 or something...
