try being on a list from an exam that was given in 2006............and STILL waiting............just saying

At the mini-BMOC, the LT. there said that his bosses asked if he could get a BMOC ready in a few days. He said that was impossible because they had to get the material ready and guest speakers lined up. That would take them 2 weeks to get everything lined up. That said, I believe we will hear a lot more buzz next week if there is a class in the beginning of April. I also check every now and then and they still have cleared only up to 320. So we know they won't go any further on the list than 320 as of now. ( I will continue to check to see if any more get cleared.)

A little bit of sour news, the papers were saying that Kelly doesn't know if there will be an April recruit class because of budgetary concerns. That could also effect the rate of promotions as well. Even though we are short on sgts, he may just keep everything at a standstill and cut the force through attrition to keep in line with the Mayor's budget. (Even though the Mayor promised to maintain our numbers after the terrorist incident and wilding in Times square). At this point, I think the only people in the know are the Mayor and Kelly. Rumors from anybody other than those two should be suspect.

to clarify on sig226, its April 4th with 63 people going into BMOC, the news just came in today. My source is as good as it gets...

s2h There should be a few passovers, so if they put in a big number in hopefully you'll make it. I would be in the next bmoc class after whenever they put one in. hopefully another 60-70 group. best of luck!!!

It is greatly appreciated by everyone, however although I do agree with that latest maybe bad news out of that phase 1 class, that they usually halt classes in the summer, they also haven't had a recruit class in April since I've been on the job. So if they do find the money to put it in, I believe the promotions may be different this summer..again I have no inside info or anything like that just a hunch..thanks, have a good summer, your names will be called , so enjoy the wait.

There was a June 2009 class that graduated in August. 

I'm talking bout an April recruit class..... In the paperlast week, commissioner Ray Kelly was quoted he would like , an April, July AND January class.... Curious if it happens....supposedly small classes tho.

A June class would be great!

I LIKE THE SOUND OF THAT

Starting in April and going for about 3 years, every 6 months will be a class of about 2000 reaching 20 years. This bodes well for movement on the list. The only downfall is that Capt.s and above really aren't leaving the job. Proven by how little they are promoting Lt's the past couple years...hopefully this will change for those of us will be on that list soon

I didn't explain that to well. I'll try again. Starting next month, about 2000 MOS will be reaching their 20th year and retiring. This will occur almost every 6 months for about the next 3 years leaving many reasons to keep promotional lists moving....good for all of us waiting on a list.

First time poster. Ive been reading posts on this forum and decided Id finally post something I heard yesterday evening. I was told by a Sgt who works in the Dept Chaplains office that they are cancelling the April class for lack of funding. She sounded pretty convincing so IDK we will see. And what happened to Zooman or whatever your name is. How about a few more posts. Besides some of the funy crap you are one of the only ones who actually posted accurate information. Everyone else is talking nonsense with this list going to extinguised by december or january. They arent gonna promote over the summer. So for those that aregonna be in the April classs best of luck cuz you will most likely be the last class until september.

In response to Ape-nuts, there is absolutely no validity to your post, my sources say other. Face it guy you are a nobody, a zero, a rookie cop w/ no time on the job and evidently no credibility. Seriously your best source is a Sgt. who works in the Chaplains Office. Embarrassing Cuzzzzz! now be a good foot post and scrounge up some parkers or something.
